What People Are Saying About Benihana

In Short – Benihana started out as a tiny four-table restaurant in New York City's theater district before becoming an international chain. Diners sit around large tables where chefs ostentatiously chop, slice, stir-fry and grill. Entree options are simple--shrimp, chicken, steak and scallops--and preparation is uniform. Every entree comes with a similar stock of sides: rice, onion soup, shrimp appetizer, iceberg lettuce drizzled with dressing, sauteed vegetables and green tea.
Amazing show and food

The show that the chefs put on for you at the tappan table is awesome for the kids. I am never disappointed in the quality of the food when I come here. The only thing I dislike is that the menu is very pricey for the food you get. You are mostly paying for the chef and a lot of egg-fried rice when you eat there. All-in-all it is a good experience for first-time visitors.
- Pros: Great show for the kids, food tastes amazing
- Cons: Price is 2 high 4 what you get
Mediocre at best - Had higher expectations, especially for a Benihana

I've been here a few times already and haven't been at all impressed with the food or service. Other Benihana locations had great fresh food, good portions and good service. It seems like this one just took the name and hoped that the quality and the rest of "Benihana-attributes" would follow. The lunch specials are reasonable, but the folks are kind of stingy there. The portions are small, the sushi and rolls don't taste fresh and look clumsily made. And the few things that we really wantedm they were unavailable. This definately won't be a first or even fifth choice for me.
- Pros: They give a small cup of you edamame at no charge
- Cons: everythinge else
