Fresh and Plentiful Seafood Buffet. This place is fantastic! There are so many choices of sushi, hot foods, soups and desserts! The service was excellent. I am looking forward to bringing my friends and family very soon, they will love this place too!

Easy to find with a huge free parking lot.

Huge Variety of Food...mmmm. I took my family there to celebrate my wife's birthday and they did not disappoint. the service was great and the food selection was abundant and everything was was really tasty. Everyone of my adult children (4), my grandaughter, wife and myself enjoyed their meals and walked away full and happy.

I would highly recommend this restaurant, can't wait to come back.

MMMMMMMMMMMM!!. Very Satisfied with their food and customer service skills. My wife and I were recommended so we decided to try it out. Out of this world. Sushi is amazing. Try the California roll.

Some Of The Very Worst Food I've Ever Eaten!!!. Based on the rave reviews, I took several business associates here for lunch. What a major disappointment!!!! I have to ask myself - "what scale of measure did the rave reviewers use?! This place is horrible. The sushi was warm [don't the owners care about maintaining a set temperature for cold items? It appears not] and not the least bit fresh. There were signs over hot dishes that were labeled wrong - where the sign said "frogs legs" there were dried out pieces of chicken. All the Chinese hot dishes like pork buns were dried out and not the least bit fresh. If I was staring to death, I'd eat live rats before I'd eat at this fools restaurant again. Do not waste your money.

GREAT!!!. This place is really small but it has a charming atmosphere. For those who love sushi, you will be able to taste a variety of rolls, also for those who don't like sushi, they provide regular japanese food too. You have a choice of seating outside with heaters and blankets! Or if you prefer inside, you can choose between the tables or sushi bar. The staff is very knowledgable and provide good service. But don't get caught off guard, make sure to make reservations especially on weekends or you'll miss out on this cute little restaurant and their delicious food. A very fun place to eat!

The Freshest and Tastiest Sushi and Seafood in Orange County. Wow, where do I start. I do not remember enjoying a buffet so much outside of Las Vegas. Usually I walk into a buffet and cruise around to see a monstrous salad bar but when it comes to seafood the options are few and far between. But at Hokkaido they have an unbelievable amount of sushi and sashimi selection, fresh nice cuts of steak that they grill to order, and my two favorites crab legs and lobster tails. The prices are very affordable when you consider that there are Japanese restaurants that charge you the same amount just for the lobster tail. I ate so much this last time that I did get to the huge dessert bar, but next time I told myself I will pace myself.

Great Seafood Selection!!. This place is very good. The high caliber of dishes is really impressive. This is not your typical asian buffet. The food quality is really high with an upscale decor (for a buffet). They have live spiny lobster, alaskan dungeouness crab and grilled NY steak yesterday. Don't see this at your normal asian buffet. The sushi is also very good with a variety of choices you see in your most expensive Japanese sushi restaurants (ie. amaebi, salmon roe, unagi, etc.). The amazing thing is the price you pay vs. what you get. The meal we ate should have cost at least twice as much for what you get.

If you want quality food....try the Hokkaido in Long Beach instead. Big difference. Went to have lunch at Hokkiado in Newport. 10/19/08 Was expecting the place to be similar as the one in Long Beach on Cherry Ave. A few complaints I have is that the food was not as good as the one in Long Beach. My family was overly upset that they didn't get the same satisfaction as when we ate at the one on Cherry Ave (in Long Beach). The fried rice was hard, it looked like hard maggots. It seemed as though the fried rice wasn't even cooked well. My family doesn't care about the quantity of food, but we rather go for "quality" instead. This restaurant needs to keep up with the one in Long Beach. If you haven't tried the one in Long Beach, you don' t know what you are missing. It's bigger, and it's seems more inviting and warm when you walk in. It's not as dull looking as the one in Newport. Family members of mine who ate at this restaurant in Newport also said that the food wasn't good but perfer the one in Long Beach. I was planning on having my son's birthday dinner there in Newport but I am glad that i tried it out first and I won't ever go to this place.

If you like eatting at a high priced buffet such as this place with "low grade of food", then this place is for you. Certainly not for my family and I.
