Great hotel for a family. A couple months ago I got the chance to stay at the Howard Johnson in Anaheim (aka the Hojo). Yes it’s the one on Harbor Blvd across the street from Disneyland next to Mimi’s Café. As a first time Hojo guest I was surprised with how super duper clean and classy the rooms were, and it wasn’t just the rooms, the grounds were clean and well maintained as well! The staff was very accommodating with my needs, not that I had many.As for my stay? it was awesome and I was only 8 min. from Disneyland. I was able to get a ground floor room with a balcony. I felt like i was in paradise, and so the first day/night I was in the room I sat outside on the balcony in a chair and listened to the bell on the Disneyland train and the horn from the Monorail—well I could hear it every 5 min.! That night I relaxed in the most comfy pillow top bed I have ever been in and watched the free movie channels. This is a great family hotel--the kids pool area rocks!!
A well-known, mid-priced national and international hotel chain where kids always stay free..
In Short
Howard Johnson's story began in 1925, with an ice cream stand that soon became a chain of orange-roofed restaurants, and eventually motor lodges. Today, the hotels offer quality accommodations at value prices for families and business travelers. Comforts of Home amenities include in-room coffeemakers, complimentary weekday newspapers and more. Most locations offer Home Office rooms, with work desks and chairs, and Crayola Kids Rooms, with Crayola easels and accessories, plus a mini-fridge and microwave.
