Great Experience

by gr4005 at Citysearch

It has been a wonderful experience living at the Five Points Seniors Apartments.

The apartment was comfortably set up to fulfill my needs and the apartment complex offered all the amenities needed. The location is very convenient with the shopping centers nearby. Plus you can’t beat the great weather in Huntington Beach!

I found the staff to be terrific – they were always helpful. The residents were also friendly. I always felt welcomed and safe there.

I truly enjoyed my stay there. I am leaving only because I have just purchased a condo.

Happy Times

by Nanmee at Citysearch

I recently moved out of Five Points Seniors Apartments due only to health problems that prevented me from living alone any longer. My stay at Five Points was a very enjoyable. I lived there for over 3 years, made many good friends and was involved in many activities. My one bedroom one bath apartment was very comfortable and I enjoyed sitting on my balcony. If an occasional maintenance problem developed, the maintenance men responded very quickly. Life is good for me now with my daughter, but I will always remember my stay at Five Points as a very happy time in my life.

Don't want to leave

by MacMd at Citysearch

After more than four years of being a resident at Five Points seniors Apartments, i am leaving for one reason only. I am joining my young son in the Philippines in order to be involved in his life. I have found my time here to be very enjoyable with an excellent staff that always took care of any needs that I may have had. The building is kept in excellent condition, always clean and inviting to our guests. There are numerous activities for all of us seniors, be it card games, board games, bingo, a beautiful library, billard room, activity room for get togethers and dinners. a well equipped gym and laundry room. A large and beautiful TV room with comfortable over stuffed chairs and a large flat panel TV. The courtyard was just recently completely re-done with new plants and palms and a large pond with a waterfall. There is a bus that takes residents shopping, doctor appointments, monthly breakfasts and luncheons, to the mall and other special trips. In conclusion, it has been a wonderful place to live and associate with all of my neighbors and i will miss it greatly.

Not for the Elderly or Disabled

by SoCalCBCat at Citysearch

I have lived at Five Points over 2 years and heard many stories. The above reviews are all true.

Residents in wheelchairs are instructed to use the back elevator only and are not allowed to sit in the lobby or out front because it looks bad to prospective residents. Wheelchairs are not allowed to carry oxygen tanks. Oxygen use in public is discouraged. Plants are not well tended due to insufficient watering and fertilization.

Unfair charges are levied. For instance, if the dishwasher does not work, the resident must pay for the new one. It does not matter that the unit is old and used by others previously. Rules are for some and not for others.

When older residents leave, they are replaced by active, younger 'seniors'. That's not bad exactly, but many here believe that older prospective residents are discouraged from living here. Many older residents have been kicked out for petty reasons Elderly people generally do not know the laws concerning fair housing and elder abuse. They feel they are at the mercy of the owners and have no other recourse.

Yes, the managers are very uncaring and cheap in their operation. Please do not rent here if you or your loved one is not completely independent, healthy, and able to get around easily.

On the positive side, great shopping right across the street and around the corner for nearly all needs. Doctor and dental offices are nearby.

Mistreat the Elderly

by steve_p57 at Citysearch

Please do not make the mistake I made and put a loved one into Five Points Seniors Apartments. Five Points is mistreating seniors by taking away their activities, privileges and dignity. I'm from out of state and when I visited Five Points for the first time, I thought it looked like a wonderful place for my mother to spend her retirement. Do not be fooled by the well kept appearance of the building. Do your homework. Speak with the owners. And, more importantly, speak with residents.
