great thai and great service. even though I've seen the restaurant a few times as a supermex lunch customer I've never been inside until tonight...

a friend and I were pretty happy to see such a highly reviewed thai place close to us, so we went and were pretty determined to sample various menu items and give a review here.

we ordered the katong tong appetizer, a stewpot of the chicken/coconut/galanga soup, pad thai noodles, ginger chicken stir fry, and shrimp and calamari curry. everything came out promptly, portions were pretty large, and the food tasted great. I highly recommend silk thai for HB locals jonesing for Thai!

Best Thai EVER. We love Thai food, and have had it at MANY different restaurants, and this one is by far the BEST. Everything there is so yummy. The lunch deals are very cheap and the food is so good, great value for the price. The menu is very cool because it has description of the foods, a small story about Thai food and customs, and about the chef. The owner has been there every time we ate and she is sooo sweet and nice. The service is great as well. The atmosphere is casual and the location is not too far from the beach. We love this place and always try to find excuses to go there, as it is not that close to our home. If you are looking for some authentic Thai cuisine you MUST eat here!!!

Best Thai Food Tried in OC. Great food, good service and nice/roomy environment. The food here is a little different from what I have tried in other places including Thailand but it is really really delicious. The price should be higher. Try it and you would like it.

Escape to Thailand!!!. A friend at school recommended this place and I AM SO GLAD!!!

I have been to many Thai restaurants before... some good some not so good.

SilkThai is a GREAT PACKAGE!!!

It has wonderfully authentic Thai food, and if you have been to Thailand and can imagine a Thai dish, the Head Chef/Co-Owner Dominic, who by the way is not only Italian too like me, is a former Thai Buddhist monk and author of a new book on Thailand called "Thailand Discovered" (I think) will arrange to have it prepared the way you like it!!! So while you are waiting for your food, you can pick Dominic's brain on Thailand and he will even give you the best prices on tour packages to Thailand!!!!

The waitresses are wonderfully warm Thai girls, sorry women... that bring Thai charm home to America. they act more like your sisters than waitresses... well except for their accents. :P

You will want to tip these girls well for their hospitality and service.

The place is comfortable, you never feel rushed.

The owners seem to want to work very hard to make their place a "portal" to Thailand... as he put it " a place you can escape for a few hours from home and work, until I can get you to escape by airline to Thailand"

WOW...I WROTE ALOT!!!!

Anyway, try and see for yourself.

Best Thai in OC... maybe California!!!. They have it all!!! Pad Thai, Som Tum, Curry, Green Mango salad!!! YUM!

If you like it spice... THIS IS THE PLACE... if you don't you should ask for nothing over a 1 or 2, because they measure things from 1 to 10 spicy. Even my girlfriend who hates hot and spicy things said she loved the coconut curry.

I know Americans in genereal don't like pork... but you WILL change your mind if you try their pork dishes.

Everything seems authentic... they even carry real rare Thai wines... come to think of it..EVEN THE MUSIC WAS THAI!!! and it wasn't too bad...not what i expected. :))

I am addicted to their pinapple fried rice and yellow curry.

Best Thai Food Place in Huntington Beach!!!. I Love Spicy Thai food!!! And they do great Thai spice. You have got to try it!!!

I am a University student and can't afford to eat out everyday, but their lunch specials are about $5, so I can eat healthy Thai food instead of fast food junk.

Great Authentic Thai Food Restaurant in OC. Being back in the USA after several years working overseas and living in Thailand where the average price of a meal is $1.50 has been an eyeopener for me.... especially where a decent meal can cost $12-50.00 for the same food.

It is nice to come back home and be able to eat authentic Thai food that tastes like Thailand.

They (SILKTHAI) do a Great Som Tom (Green Papaya Salad), Larb Moo (a Spicy Isaan/NE Thailand Specialty), Great Curries from the South of Thailand.

BTW... they do Take Out and have cheap lunches

Recently they went from more of a take out restaurant to an upscale restaurant, but the prices are still the same... now you only get a much more comfortable place to sit, relax and enjoy your meal.

You need to try it for yourself... YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!!!
