Surf City's Best Italian Food. Five reasons why our family loves Paolo's

Great tastes

Great personal service

Great Variety

Decent Prices

And amazingly enough, there's rarely a wait. It's not the easiest place to find (German Town just north of Bella Terra) but definitely a treat.

Don't tell your friends, it will be our secret!

Great Ciappino !!! Excellent Italian food. Great service. MAKE RESERVATIONS. This is a real find, great Italian food in German themed village. Owner /Chef on premises every night. Dinner only. Terrific service. Make reservations !! Early is best. They open at 5:30PM, so up to about 6:30PM or 7:00PM you might be able to walk in (except Friday or Saturday). Sundays seem to be the days for their private parties, which can be fun to watch. This is a real gem, and such a surprise to find. I was really reluctant to share this but I really want to see them have continued success. Go!! Mangia, et buonappetito !!

A warm, home-style trattoria that's worlds away from Huntington Beach's surfside bars and bistros.. The Scene
Outside there might be strip malls, but inside, this cozy spot fosters old-fashioned good cheer with chatty waiters and Italian lounge music. The soft lighting and rustic walls create a romantic atmosphere not found at any chain restaurant.

The Food
Paolo's focus is on hearty eating and drinking, not seeing and being seen. Appetizers like shrimp sautéed with garlic, white wine and herbs served over fettucine are substantial and filling. Main course pastas are hearty dishes, such as the penne with chicken breast and porcini mushrooms in light cream sauce. Cioppino is a robust, tomato-based stew packed with mussels, clams, shrimp, calamari and chunks of fish. Lighter fare includes salmon sautéed in balsamic vinegar and extra large shrimp imported from Mexico cooked in champagne sauce. Pollo Calabrese, which pairs diced chicken breast with Italian sausages and artichokes, is both spicy and tangy. Save room for dessert--the homemade tiramisu is worth the calories.
