Zubies has gone down hill. Went to Zubies Dry Dock last night. I was really looking forward to it because I used to go to the one in Costa Mesa years ago. Zubies in Costa Mesa had the best Calamari Tacos and pizza deals. Zubies Dry Dock in Huntington Beach was terrible. We ordered the seared tuna, breaded fish, fillet mignot and the coconut shrimp.

Tuna= tasted like half baked tuna it was not seared and tasted terrible

Breaded fish = was dry and tasted like it was fried in old grease

Shrimp = was totally burnt, sent it back and it came back half burnt, I gave up and just ate it. Upset stomach all night.

Fillet Mignot = was actually tough, how is that possible.

Prices are about 20% less than other places, but the food is not even edible. I normally really enjoy casual dinning experiences like i stated earlier the Old Zubies that used to be in Costa Mesa was great. This place sucks!

Highly recommend.... Great food at great prices, fast service, generous portions, fun atmosphere... no need to tell the kids to be quiet!

very casual dining. Been there done that. Great for sports teams after practice or games. Prices are reasonable, Fish is good. Yes you pay as you go (then again Congress does that--yeah right). Different parts are separated as to what you want to eat. Bar and bar food. Sit down dinners also. IF you are wanting to take food to go, go somewhere else. Zubies is not the place for ordering to go food. Seems as if they forgot that part of restaurant schooling. Go there about 6 to 12 times a year, when I am in mood for fish and chips.

Editorial Review. Family style portions and communal seating add casual charm to this Huntington Beach one-stop shop for seafood, pizza and sandwiches.

Love this place!. Our friends have been going to Zubies for years, so we finally decided to check it out - we loved it and have returned for numerous meals! Great menu, with good variety. The food is very good, fresh, huge portions with reasonable pricing. More of a sports bar atmosphere, but family oriented - a place you can take the whole family. No table service (that's they only thing I don't like!) It's always crowded. We like to go Sundays @ 5:00 when its not so crowded. We call it feast day!

Try the Cajun Catfish or the Alaskan King Crab two of my favorites! You will not be disappointed!

Horrible set up, cash only, self serve, expensive. I was recommended this from a fellow HB resident. Upon walking in this place the confusion sets in. It is all community seating, meaning it's a bunch of picnic style seats that you may have to share your table with other patrons. The floor is scattered with sawdust over checkered tile. Why, other than the fact they are inviting a suit from someone slipping and falling I don't know. (My wife almost fell twice)

Ordering is confusing to say the least. 1 station for the bar, 1 for the oyster bar/ appetizer, 1 for entrees. All are cash only and you have to pay separate each time for each visit.

After ordering our entrees. I ordered fried scallops 12.95, my wife ordered spaghetti 8.95 we took seats infront of the fireplace. My order came with a salad bar and I proceeded to the so-called salad bar. Iceberg lettuce, carrot sticks and ground up broccoli and cauliflower does not constitute a "salad bar". No tomatoes or any other veggies.

I then proceeded to the bar to get a beer. 5minutes.... 10 minutes.... grrr I give up.

My food was ready, but my wife?s spaghetti was not. 10 more minutes?!? Pasta only takes 10 minutes to boil!

My fried scallops tasted like refried frozen moldy bread clumps. I think I have better quality from a frozen dinner from Albertsons. After attempting to eat a second scallop I decide that since my wife?s meal was not even ready yet that we should go ask for our money back and leave. After some degree of difficulty we were refunded our money and went next door to Don Jose's Mexican restaurant. Then we discovered we were short 4 dollars on our "refund". We were not provided a receipt so we have no recourse.

Prices were not as expected, for the same price id rather go to Kings or Market Broiler for the same price and have someone bring it to my table.

The fireplace and beer hall atmosphere are a plus and the place was packed, but I don't get it and nor will I return to find out!

Look at fish while you eat.. I always go here after a day at the beach. They have the best inexpensive seafood plates in Orange county. The place is full of salt water aquariums with crazy eels and miniture sharks to look at. There are also big screen TV's surrounding the place with the current sporting events playing. They have a full bar as well as a deli.
