Picture perfect. Love this hotel - California Luxury at its best. Posh setting, fantastic ocean view & outstanding service. This place smells so refreshing as you walk in. The patio area outside is stunning at sunset - fantastic place to bring a date or share a fab meal.
Great views, atmosphere and professional service. I stayed for 2 nights, and also utilized the Spa services for manicure/pedicure. The staff are all professional and attentive from the moment you drive up the Hotel driveway. Check-in was very smooth, and with a courteous bell person who helped me with my luggage. The view is stunning from the Hotel. The room was also clean. The Spa was fully booked on the day I used their services, and I enjoyed the manicure/pedicure with the attentive service. Overall, a great experience.
Luxury!. This is a beautiful hotel on a gorgeous piece of property! Rooms are nicely appointed, spacious and clean - get one w/ a view! Service - great, food - excellent, pool - delightful! The view from many areas of this hotel overlooks the beach - WOW! And you can walk right down - it's a little bit of a walk - but worth it!!
Worth the money. The perfect spot for a weekend getaway. Many hotels can and should take the lead from this one. You pay the price, but you also receive excellent service at every step, from the bar to the valet.
You don't have to be a President or the King of Pop to take in the killer view at this five star resort..

There are two Vichy showers, a couples massage room, 11 signature treatment rooms, curved manicure and pedicure salons--shaped to encourage conversation--and a private lounge serving healthy snacks. Unique offerings include the Sea Mineral Cocoon (an intensive sea salt and mud wrap), warm-stone therapy and scalp and hand therapy.
One of the Finest Afternoon Tea's. I must tell you that the Ritz Carlton's tea was so far superior to the afternoon tea that we had at Harrods in London.
pretty good service. Excellent Beach is right there. You have to walk down the hill a bit. But good excersize. The dining is good. I arrived on business. A friend was planning on meeting me. I spoke with the bartender, about sending down some champagne, they delivered promptly, down to the veranda, where I was sitting. Upon getting back to my room, I discovered that they had anticipated that my friends arrival could be romantic, they had stocked the room for just such a visit. It wasn't that kind of a visit, but, it was very nice to see , just in case anticipation. A guest has to ask for very little, they want to know about you, what you enjoy. They asked me once how I liked my meals cooked, I was never asked again, but my food was always perfect. I'm very fussy about taste and presentation of food. Great Job.
Awful Service. My family's overall experience was horrible. The bus boy who brought our luggage into our room spilt our dimatap all over the bed spead, then the next day when maid service came all they did was turn over the dirty side of the bed spread to make it "appear" as if they changed bedding. After climbing into bed I realized there was sticky cough syrup all over my legs. I then called maid service to have them clean it and it took two hours to finally get service, and when we did get service there was no appology. This hotel expects you to pay top dollar for their rooms and dining then treats you like scum, not my idea of a first class hotel.
Not so happy marriage renewel. Unfortunately, our stay was so dissapointing. There was an awful smell from burning firewood all day and night due to being located under the club level, the bed was estremely hard and uncomfortable, and the shower drain was stopped up so that when we took a shower we had to stand in a big puddle. If this wasn't enough, when I called the assistant manager to complain, I was basically told that he was sorry, but was not offered any discount on my stay or offered a new room or anything. Our stay was supposed to be a nice renewel for us and it ended up being very aggravating and sad. Not worth the money and the staff could have been more accomodating when they realized we were unhappy. This proved to us that they really arent concerned with what the customer thinks.
