Love, Love, Love Marios. We love Marios by the Sea. We love Southern Italian food and Marios has some of the best. I love the Seafood Pescatori. I always order it extra spicy. My kids love the linguini and Clams.

What a shame this place is such a waste..... You want to support the local restaurants..,,Friday night the wife and I were enjoying a glass of wine at home and wanted to take out from somewhere close by. We haven't been to Marios in years because it was so average last time....Well $50 dollars later after taking home the Vodka Chicken and Veal Pizziola and some tasteless salad....way below average is the best we can offer. Don't they have a decent cookbook in this place?

Worst Italian Food. I should have paid attention to the other reviews. However, it has been there so long, why not try it. The servings are very large, the food terrible. No flavor at all. When we told the "owner" he stated you have to request oregano or garlic to be added to the sauce because of allergies. This is bull. You cannot add these ingredients at the end. They must simmer in the sauce. Terrible food, not near the Sea and they say to look at the "Sea Mural" that must have been painted by a beginner. Save your money and appetite for a better dinner. I had to give it one star or it would not publish.

MUST STOP BEST PLACE FOR PASTA!!!!!!!!!! ahhhhhhh. i love this restruant if they ever went out of business i would freak out!!!!!! my family and i have been going here for years...and nothing beats this place!!! no ONE! =] GO MARIOS!!!!!!! =]

A must stop restaurant !!!!!!. I live in Michigan and each time i come to Ca. (twice to three time a year) to visit mom I have to stop at Mario"s for dinner!! I love the Champagne Halibut. They also have a good wine selection to go with it. Mom loves the huge portions, she gets to bring a second dinner home. Service is always freindly and fast. Please don't close or move!!! I will be back to show more family and friends your resturant!!!!

Great Mediterranean Style Italian Food - A Locals Favorite!. This is a `locals’ spot. Located in the Ocean View Plaza at Golden Lantern and del Avion in Dana Point. It’s small and lacks the old world ambiance of a Tuscan or Amalfi Coast trattoria, but you won’t be disappointed in the food. Cooked in the southern Italy style with a nice variety of selections plus a list of off menu ‘Specials’ that the locals have come to love so much, it rarely changes.

My favorite is the Spinach Fettuccine Al Salmone. The `Grande’ portions are HUGE so consider a ` Piccolo’ or splitting (+$2). You can substitute most any pasta on any offering and ask for extra sauce or a different sauce altogether on most plates. Try the soup instead of the house salad and a side of marinara for the bread.

A few tables have an ocean/sunset view. We prefer the patio as it can get a bit noisy inside.

Notice the line of folks at the register picking up their take-outs? You know it’s got to be a local’s favorite.

Great family Italian food!. This is a great relaxed family oriented Itailian restaurant! Where did all these restaurants go? The prices are great - half price on most meals with more than half size portions! The wait staff are wonderful, and the food is more than average! Children and my parents love this relaxed and wonderful pricing place. If you are tired of the expensive price for just average food - come to Mario's! I've enjoyed their Seafood Pescatori, Mastaciolli Ala Vodka, or Linguine with Clam Sauce for years! You will enjoy this food.

Not great, just okay.. I haven't been at the restaurant for a couple of years, but the last time we were there, the food was average at best, and blandish at worst. The pasta was a little mushy, and the vodka sauce unexciting. Huge platters though, so if you like your food dull and plentiful, then this is your restaurant.

Authentic Family Style Italian Food. The food is authentic Italian style. However, the full-size portion is too big; one can consider order half-size of the entrees. The restaurant is not romantic, but it's great for family dining. Given the huge portion, the price is good.
