BEWARE OF THE USED CAMERA STORE.
I HAVE BEEN A CUSTOMER OF THIS STORE FOR ABOUT FOUR YEARS AND HAVE PURCHASED MANY ITEMS FROM THEM. THE OTHER DAY I BROUGHT IN THREE NIKON LENSES TO SELL TO THEM. TWO OF WHICH I KNEW WHAT THE VALUE WAS AND THE THIRD I DID NOT, FOR I COULD NOT FIND IT ON THE INTERNET. THE OLD MAN BEHIND THE COUNTER ACTED LIKE THESE LENSES WERE QUITE WORTHLESS AND OFFERED ME $100 FOR THE THREE. I TOLD HIM THAT AS HE HAD ALWAYS SEEMED TO BE FAIR WITH ME THAT I WOULD TRUST THAT HE WAS OFFERING A JUST AND FAIR PRICE SO I ACCEPTED HIS OFFER. VERY FOOLISH OF ME, GUESS I SHOULD HAVE DONE MY HOMEWORK. TODAY I VISITED HIS STORE AND NOTICED HE WAS SELLING ONE OF THE LENSES FOR $200. AS I FEEL TRUST IS AN IMPORTANT THING IN ANY TRANSACTION BETWEEN BUYER AND SELLER, I FEEL THESE PEOPLE SCREWED ME ON THE LENS. I TRUSTED THAT HE WOULD GIVE ME A JUST PRICE AND HE TOOK ADVANTAGE OF THE FACT I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT THE LENS WAS WORTH. I FEELTHESE PEOPLE ARE WILLING TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF A CUSTOMER THAT COMES TO THEM WITH A PRODUCT AND NO VALUE KNOWLEDGE IN IT. I WILL NEVER SET FOOT IN THESE PEOPLE'S STORE AGAIN. I HOPE HE ENJOYS THE $170 PROFIT HE IS GOING TO MAKE ON THE LENS BECAUSE HE WILL NEVER MAKE ANOTHER DIME PROFIT OFF OF THIS ONCE LOYAL CUSTOMER, AND I CAN ASSURE HIM HE WOULD HAVE MADE A HELL OF ALOT MORE THAN $170 HAD HE TREATED ME FAIRLY. BY THE WAY THE LENS IS A NIKON 45MM PANCAKE LENS WITH A SERIES OF GUIDE NUMBERS ON THE SIDE. HE PAID ME $30 FOR IT SO DON'T BUY IT FROM HIM FOR MORE THAN $50. OF COURSE THIS IS JUST MY OPINION.
they do not sell stolen bikes.
I just recently bought my third bike from this shop. A Dutch City Bike (vintage) my previous two were fixed that i latter had converted to single speeds. Too many friends hving accidents and the idea of a brake was so much more better to me.
The person that wrote that The Used Camera store selling stolen bikes is BS. When you have a resale shop people who are not honest will try to come in selling stolen goods. I asked the owner about this rumor and he explained that he bought a bike from someone not knowing it was stolen. Now he said he requires ID's with ALL sales (when he is buying from the customers) Lesson learned The owner in the end lost out because he did not resale the bike he returned i to the boy.
So, people chain up your bikes just like we lock our doors to our cars and never leave our keys in our cars be smart because YES people do steal.
In terms of the cameras. I bought a vintage polaroid here becasue I still like taking pics with these camera. He didn't rape my wallet in fact he was cheaper than some that I found on Ebay!
This place is honest and great on our pocket books!
Have done several transactions and the results were great. Information was good. Prices were right on. Return policy is great. Honored my store credit no problem when I changed my mind. Very relaxed and willing to accommodate me in getting me what I wanted. Would have no problem shopping there again.
I am a long time customer this is a great store to shop at. I am a long time customer of The Used Camera Store and they have been more than helpful and respectful to me over the years. They go out of their way to treat all the customers I've seen with respect and courtesy. Whoever this etchristine is who left that false review be aware that you will be liable for defamation and false statements legally.
