A fun place whether you drink or not, plus good food. The fact that the place is crowded proves that it's just awesome. A very cool atmosphere inside. I will definitely be there for St. Patrick's Day!
Authentic Irish Pub in Costa Mesa -OC -So. Cal!. Not all Irish Pubs outside of Ireland are created equal. Some have Irish pub names yet no real Irish staff. The Harp Inn is the real deal! Great Irish staff - so be on your best guard because if you step out of line - you are barred! Fun weekend bands like Neon Nation, Tijuana Dogs and The Project plus Sunday afternoon for blues or traditional music with Gypsy Kiss, SOB or Trooper Thorn. A fun place whether you drink or not, plus good food. I think the Harp Inn has increased the number of Irish and fellow Celts in the neighborhood who are a quick walk, cycle or taxi drive away!
beer tastes better when served with an irish accent.
bad service? huh? what bar were you at lady? these guys are awesome, not only do they treat me like a princess, they actually CALL me princess. admittedly, an irish princess gets treated differently than an OC princess, but I'd rather be an irish princess anyday.
the bands are usually awesome. although, of the 3 bands I've seen, I can't really say the playlists are that different. tj dogs are not my favorite, but they get the job done. the creepers play the most and best stuff, but after about 4 shows you'll know the sets by heart, including every lyrical mistake and what appear to be impromptu antics. still, even if predictable, SO MUCH FUN. the fact that the place is crowded just proves that it's awesome. there are a million clubs and bars and dives and so-called pubs nearby, but everyone is at the harp, risking getting spilled on or squashed, because it's the best place to be.
What a Load of Irish. Why don't you make like an Irishman and get the f*ck over to the Harp. The most lively, and friendly bar in Costa Mesa. I've been to them all, and this one is my favorite by far. The Harp Inn serves good food, quickly. Serves great drinks, fast. Nobody, and I mean nobody, hosts a better St. Patty's Day celebration than the Harp Inn!
Best Irish pub in Orange County! Definately a good spot for St. Patrick's Day!!!. I love this place. Very cool atmosphere inside. I will definately be there for St. Patrick's Day! Great crowd, They have Flat screens for sports fans. The Harp inn is a hidden find. The staff is great. Very accomodating. I highly recomend this bar for Happy Hour, nightlife and to catch sporting events.
True Irish Pub with a real Irish owner and Irish bartenders Friday and Saturday night!.
True Irish Pub with the best pours, strong drinks and good looking people.
I absolutely love walking in on a Saturday night to find three Irish bartenders. They treat you just like you were in Ireland. Some women, like the one who wrote a review, must want special queen treatment. Well, your not in New Port Honey. True Irish Men treat everyone equal and if you act up, they are going to dish it out.
Love the place and the fact that the owner, John, is always there and is from Ireland himself. You don't find many Irish pubs in this area with a real Irish Owner. There Fish and Chips are light and crispy. Dancing Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights are so much fun. Great looking men and women go into this bar. I have always had a great time. Annie D.
great night scene. I've been to the Harp a few times. When it comes to dining, I would rather go elsewhere. I think the food is just "okay". As far as the night scene, as long as you don't mind being shoved around a bit, it's a very fun place to go. There are always people there, and they have live music which is a plus. If you're ready to go out into a crowded, but fun, bar then the Harp is always there for you.
My Home Away From Home. I love this place.. I am there at least twice a week.. Midweek is just a fun relaxing place to have a pint and chat at the Bar. Everyone is really friendly!! Some of the Bartenders are sarcastic, but its totally part of the Charm! If they Kissed butt it wouldn't be the same. Someone complained that the bartenders were rude, I can see that happeneing.. but the only people I have seen them be rude to are those that totally deserved it!! I have become friendly with the entire staff and they treat us great!! John Joe, Paul, Steve, Matt, Tim.. etc etc.. I love you guys!!! On the weekends it can get crowded.. but they have some great bands.. The Creepers, TJ dogs, Neon Nation , the Project and the Fenians are some of the best.. and they serve Smithwicks.. My favorite!!
Great Place. I don't know what size a stick the last person had up her butt when she went to the bar. I've been to the Harp Inn numerous times and each time I have received great service. Such great service that I've actually taken it upon myself to become friends with all of the staff at the Harp Inn. The pub hosts live bands, and Irish Rugby games which I constantly find myself attending. Why the the woman below me found it necessary to bad mouth the Harp Inn, and even post the same review twice under two usernames I'll never know. Don't let her give the bar a bad rap though, everyone at the harp is friendly, and so are the customers. So, as long as you're not already stressed out about something that happened at work, and even if you are... The pub is a great place to unwind, and at times a great place to party.
Horrible Service.
I don't care how many kinds of beer they serve, or that they're an "authentic" Irish pub (my Irish ancestors would shudder) this place has the worst attitude towards service I have seen. I went there for the first time last night, and the bartender was so rude to me that he ruined my evening. I complained to the manager, who merely shrugged.
If you're looking for a fun, cool place to hang out, go somewhere else. You work hard all week, and bars are expensive, so why throw your money at a place that's just going to treat you like a second-class citizen. There are bars and restaurants on every corner. The Harp Inn is certain to disappoint you. Unless, of course, you enjoy being treated horribly.
