What People Are Saying About Pierce Street Annex

In Short – "Casual" and "cheap" sum up this Costa Mesa singles party destination. It's one of the area's top pickup spots, with beachy, attractive 20-somethings filling the majority of the bill. Drink specials keep the small dance floor fueled, as singles smash together to hip-hop and rock hits. A large patio area allows for conversation if the inside frenzy gets overwhelming.

Good drinks, nice outdoor space

Dude below sounds like a drama queen. It's a nice place. I've been to Pierce Street a few times now and have found the people working there and the patrons to be nice people. The food's solid. I usually come for lunch, so I haven't seen the nightlife but I hear it's bumpin'.
STAY AWAY! DO NOT COME HERE!

This place will literally kill you. I’m not trying to be dramatic, but it almost happened to us. You might die by going here. If you want to live, go somewhere else, anywhere else. Run like hell!
Six of us went there to sit outside on the patio on a sunny Saturday afternoon (May 28, 2011), to enjoy an afternoon in the sunshine. Two of us ended up getting thrown out! Like virtually everyone else in the bar, we were in no position to drive yet the manager threw us out. What can one do, but drive home? Drinking and driving will kill you, but Pierce Street Annex doesn’t seem to care. They’ll throw you to the wolves. The management is dangerous, irresponsible and legally liable.
So why did we get thrown out? I don’t know and neither does anyone in our group. We were not told. I have no idea and can’t even venture a guess. We did not have a fight with anyone; not customers, not staff. We did not spill any food or drink, we did not damage any property, we did not steal anything, we did not vomit, nothing. To this day we have no idea. None of us can come up with a reason.
We are mature, middle aged professional adults and none of us have ever been thrown out of anyplace. We wanted to sit a while longer, enjoy each other and burn off some alcohol but we were not allowed.
Four of us went out the front door to get something from the car. The other two stayed at the table. We were not leaving, all our personal stuff was still at the table, as were two of our friends, and the bartender still had our American Express card. While outside, we took pictures of ourselves when the manager came out and rudely, obnoxiously, offensively and abusively told us to leave the property without giving a reason and without us having an opportunity to go back to our table to get our stuff. (I went anyway disregarding the rantings of the manager.)
So if you want to enjoy an afternoon or evening out, don’t go here. Go somewhere else, anywhere except Pierce Street Annex! If you do, you are likely to be exposed to extreme danger when getting thrown out for no apparent reason, only to have to drive home in an unsafe condition.
DO NOT GO TO PIERCE STREET ANNEX! Good luck to any and all who do not head my advice.
Just what I needed

I don't usually go out much but my girlfriend dragged me out. I had so much fun at Pierce Street. I am so glad I went. We had so much fun dancing. (they have a big dance floor) and we had an amazing waitress. Her name was Marissa. I suggest you sit in her station. She was so sweet and fun. Very personable. Drinks were very reasonably priced and we met a lot of people there. Very easy to socialize with crowd. When I go out, this will def be on the top of the list!
Service was great and music was good

I'm not really a club guy as I find them to be dull and overpriced. But at my last visit to Vegas, I visited here with my friend on his cousin's birthday. To my surprise it was the best place I have ever visited. The girls there were all smoking hot and there were plenty of them whether they were the waitresses, bartenders or others girls dancing there. The service was great and the music was good and that too; available at a very reasonable price. I will recommend them for true.
Best Bar/My Home Bar
by JessikaWithAK at Citysearch
It actually made me sad to read some of the reviews on here.
This bar has been my home bar since the day I turned 21. In that time I have made countless friends and still hang out with them right here, every Tuesday and Sunday. OH. AND Monday. They just started a karaoke night, which is a BLAST.
It really is family here. From DJ Daniel to Doug and Gordon. I truly love this place. It's my home away from home. Never a bad night here. Been coming here at least twice a week for over 2 years and I have not witnessed one fight or any misconduct. This bar is nothing but good times and even better people. Take my word for it. I'm a PSA veteran now. :-p
PS - Hi, Daniel. I know you're reading this.
Love all you guys! <3
- Pros: Great music, dance floor, GREAT bartenders, DJs, Owners
- Cons: Cons? Nothing comes to mind.
