Great Hospital, Friendly People. I just moved to Costa Mesa and a neighbor recommended I go to Costa Mesa Animal Hospital with my cat. The hospital is very close to me on 17th St. and Irvine Blvd. The staff was very nice and the lobby was very pretty and clean. My cat Striker didn't seem to mind it either. The doctor was very nice and explained everything to me. My cat was having some urinary issues, and they figured it out right away. He also found that Striker had fleas. I guess this is a big problem in Costa Mesa and I got some flea medication and they gave him a bath. I thought the prices were very reasonable. Thanks for your help! I'll be back next year.
I would NEVER go here again..
The Staff were nice- hence the one star. It looked alright in the waiting room, but when I took my kitty to the exam room there was fur all over the floor and ON THE EXAM TABLE. Not cleaning an exam table between 'patients' is just unacceptable. My kitty just went for a routine checkup & booster shots and the vet, while nice, seemed very hurried in examining her. She said she needed a teeth cleaning- so I said ok. I was told to leave her there and come back in 4 hours. Four hours later- I had to wait 30 minutes for them to find my cat. FINALLY they brought out a carrier and offered me 'pricilla'. I repeatedly told them NO- my cat is 'Amy' and described her white/gray coloring- yet they still handed me some strange black cat in a carrier similar to mine. Once I did get my Amy (who was predictably terrified) I was upset to notice that her nose was scratched in a couple of places.
At home I noticed she was bleeding on my sheets where she had been lying. After much worriying and examination- I realized the problem: Whoever had taken her out of her carrier for the cleaning did not know how to handle a cat. She had apparently latched onto the cloth-covered bottom of the carrier when someone at the office had yanked her out and RIPPED OUT HER CLAW. I'm so upset! The bloody stain and the ripped-off claw inside her carrier are testaments to their hurried and harsh behavior once an owner leaves. This was a horrible experience for both me and my baby. I've even had a better experience once using Banfield (sadly)- and at least their bill didn't total $250.
Good, Honest Service.
I found this clinic this week when my cat became ill. First, when I called their emergency after hours line, I received courteous and knowledgeable service, even though I was not a client and was calling at 10:30pm.
When I brought my cat to the clinic, the vet, Dr. Paladin, listened carefully to my description of the problem and then spent a fair amount of time observing my pet as well as checking her vitals. He then recommended treatment that was effective and reasonably priced. While my bill ended up being fairly high, it was due to the overnight stay with iv, various tests, and x-rays. And the most important thing is, he talked to me twice personally today to give me a status on my cat and came out to check on us when I came to pick her up.
The staff, while being busy (which is a good thing seeing as they are a business), are courteous and genuinely care about their clients... both the humans and the animals. I would recommend this clinic and will be returning for my cat's regular checkups.
Terrible Service. 1st of all, they're short on staff, don't expect to come out the office within 2 hours. The worst thing is that all they cared about is making more $$, not your pet. I took my 8 months old yorkie to get spayed, and asked few questions about the microchip with the doctor. Few hours later, I went back to pick up my babe, and realized that they've put the microchip in her already. I was soooo p!ssed, the microchip was only $27, I was trying to get some info first, and haven't decided if I want my babe to go through the pain and get a metal placed in her body. On top of this, the vet give her extra 2 vaccines, "because they suppose due very soon". Wait a second, aren't you suppose to get my permission before you put the microchip in??? don?t you need to ask the owner first before you give her extra vaccine ??? I was really p!ssed off that day. Talked to the doctor, she said that " oh, microchip is good for your dog, in case you lost her?..and she needs those vaccines" . Yes, I've paid 1 year Puppy Vaccine Package at Petco, that's the reason I don?t want to get the shots from you!!! The point is you have to respect my pet, and respect the owner. What's a terrible service.
Trust your pets with these people. Don't normally do this but the bad review on CMAH made me upset. These people have taken excellent care of our bulldog (hardest pet to care for). Surgery, emergency consults, opening when closed,... We rely on CMAH and would recommend them to everyone. They are also very friendly, answer all our questions, and from what the women in my life tell me.....handsome.
Average Vet Clinic. This animal clinic is O.K. but nothing outstanding. I originally took my dog to VCA Arroyo in Lake Forest and decided to switch to this clinic as it was closer to my home however the difference in service and attention by the staff and the vets resulted in going back to VCA Arroyo. And their prices are the same as VCA Arroyo and sometimes more yet the service doesn't match the price.
Best Vet in the world. Dr. Paladin is the best vet i have been to. he saved my dog roxy and marley. I highly recommend him to anyone who wants there pet to be kept in good loving hands. He will save your pets life. and hes very handsome
Dr. Paladin saved my cat Oreo's life.... Excellent Dr., very thorough with the right tests and medication...I highly recomend this Dr...and close to home...Thanks Dr. Paladin
very knowledgable and thorough. Sometimes difficult to understand due to S. African accent. went the extra mole to save my cat, recognized and diagnosed a condition that had been missed by my regular vet.
