Great Food!!. Best Tsukemen ever!!! This is one of my favorite ramen places. Although, smells kind of bad in there sometimes. I think they need to change their cleaning rag.
Awful customer service, worse food. I could careless about customer service if the food was good enough, but here both were terrible. The pork used in the ramen, was pretty much the cheapest, dryest, toughest cut they could get their hands on. The soup was also bland enough that I had to add soya sause to it and I never add soya sauce to anything. I was so hoping that this was going to be a nice substitute for the Mitsuwa food court ramen place. So unless you have a Ramen addiction and Mitsuwa food court is closed, avoid this place.
Cup ramen at home would've been a better choice. I just went to Mentatsu yesterday after reading a positive review online, and it turned out to be a really bad experience. I ordered the chashumen, and my husband had the miso ramen. Neither were decent. The soup was very bland. The noodles were too soft. The bean sprouts were definitely not fresh. The so-called chashu seemed like overboiled slices of lean pork. It was so bad that we could not finish our bowls. Moreover, they forgot about our gyoza order, so we didn't get to try that. Having just gotten back from Japan last week, the experience was especially disappointing. If you're craving ramen in the O.C., I highly recommend Kohryu and Shin-sen-gumi--both are 10x better than Mentatsu (in both food and service).
