Irvine >Tia Juana's Long Bar & Rstrnt
Tia Juana’s is a spicy gem in Old Town Irvine.
The Sonora Chicken Salad is mixed greens, fajita-style chicken, cheddar cheese and chopped grilled onions tossed in chipotle ranch dressing and topped with tortilla strips, sliced avocado, and tomato wedges. This has a good mix of flavors from salty to creamy to sweet and just a little bit of spicy.
Short Ribs a la Diabla is tender beef short ribs smothered in a spicy Diablo sauce and white wine reduction. It is served with whipped Yukon potatoes and sauteed escaveche. The short ribs are extremely tender and the Diablo sauce is wonderfully flavorful and spicy. The mix of the short ribs and the whipped potatoes is just devine. WARNING: If you don't like spicy food, you might want to give this one a pass. This dish is definitely for the experienced spicy food eater.
COUNTRY MONDAYS at Tia Juana's!. This is one of only two 18 & OVER Country Nights in Orange County! When I say "Country", I mean more modern/crossover country which allows for plenty of line dancing for our younger adults into stompin' their boots all night long! Great Happy Hour specials while watching the latest big game on their tv's. A fine menu of Mexican food with reasonable prices & a great Long Bar! Free dance lessons every Monday at 7:30 & 8:30. DJ music with new & classic line dances along with a great vibe from the younger crowd. 21 & OVER are always welcome and do come to dance, so you won't be the only one. Peak Mondays are during school breaks, especially summertime. Nights last through the midnight hour & later during the summer. Cover is $10 under 21 and $5 for 21 & OVER. A friendly DJ makes it easy to make your requests or ask questions about a song. (21 & OVER country fans, I recommend InCahoots in Fullerton on Friday nights for a great night of music, plenty of line dancing, couples dancing, drinks specials, birthdays, & more).
Unique ambiance, Excellent Taco Tuesday. Unique ambiance... great location. The food is very good and the Paco's Taco's are A+. They are on the American Airlines rewards program, so you also get 3-5x miles for every dollar you spend. Huge bonus! The Taco Tuesday bar is one of the best in OC... Great place to watch UFC fights...
Great Bar option for Irvine.
There is actually a bar/club in Irvine!!
And it is pretty good too. I know people from LA that come down to party over here in Irvine.
Cover may be steep ($20 on Saturday) but if you get there early it's free.
I can't comment on the food, I have never eaten there. The music varies from Swing, Top 40, Salsa, depending on the night. I recommend calling in advance to make sure the music is of your liking.
BEST NIGHT BLUB TO PARTY THU-SAT.
TIA JUANAS IS THE BOMB! I'VE BEEN GOING THERE EVERY SINGLE FRI & SAT FOR THE PAST 4 MONTHS. YOU MIGHT CALL ME ADDICTED & MAYBE I AM. THE REASON FOR ME BEING SO ADDICTED IS THE WONDERFUL ENVIRONMENT. THE PLACE HAS CHANGED SO MUCH. IT HAS IMPROVED 10 TIMES SINCE THE 1ST TIME I WENT THERE. IF YOU ARE INTO HIP HOP, ENGLISH MUSIC & CHEAP DRINKS YOU SHOULD GO ON THU. IF YOU ENJOY SPANISH MUSIC, AS I DO YOU SHOULD GO ON FRI OR SAT. FRI & SAT GIRLS START GETTING THERE AROUND 11:00PM. EVERY WEEKEND THEY HAVE A GUY PLAYING THE SAXOPHONE & 2 GO-GO DANCERS DANCING ON POLES. THEY PLAY ALL KINDS OF MUSIC, FROM SALSA, MERENGUE, CUMBIA, REGGEATON, ROCK EN ESPA?OL, HIP-HOP, JAZZ ETC. WHAT ELSE CAN I SAY.
PS: THEY HAVE A TRAIN SHOT SPECIAL. EVERYTIME YOU HEAR THE TRAIN PASS BY & THEY RING THE BELL, SHOTS ARE ONLY $2.00!!!!
I HAD A GREAT EXPERIENCE!. The food was great. The atmosphere was lively. Our server was lovely and very helpful with the menu and margarita specials. Our party had nothing but raves for the food. The shrimp fajitas were great and the Carnitas were the best I've had outside of Mexico City. It got a bit loud at 9:30pm, but soon the place was hopping! If I were 25, I would have been on the dance floor, but I just drank my margaritas and watched (great people watching...lots of pretty young people out on a Thursday). No complaints from our group...the manager even stopped by to check on us periodically.
Terrible Service, food is lousy, music is bad...nothing worth going for. We came for a friend's birthday on a Tuesday night, and they made us each pay $15 just to get into the resturant. Once we were inside, they made us guarentee that we would each order a full entree and have drinks. We finally got our cover refunded since we later found out only certain people were paying, but the food was brought out cold and two dishes were wrong. After about 9, they took away all our dishes and only served us with plastic forks and insisted we finish our meals so they could clear the table. The only nice staff there is the bouncer. Horrible place, its over priced and overall I had a HORRIBLE time. Don't go to this place..ever!
