Great Hole In The Wall Japanese.
I've been eating at Mugen since it first opened and I love their food! I have a difficult family to please and they all love it, from my grandpa down to my kids, and even my husband who is not a big Japanese food person. The salmon collar is the best and reminds me of my granmother's! The sashimi is great! I love the fact that it is a small place. I hope they never change!

Food court Japanese.
I too agree with the reviewer about the picnic plates. I mean if I take out...OF course but dining in?!! They don't have a dishwasher? The food is basically food court Japanese. Personally I think it is too expensive for the type of food they serve.

picnic plates???.
okay, the only time i ever want to be served on styrofoam picnic plates is AT A PICNIC! i stopped by here for lunch the other day and i should've gone with my gut to turn around... but like i always say, everyone deserves a chance and this place was worse than a yoshinoya! at least at yoshinoya's you get more than two vegetables and the chicken isn't drenched in the sauce... anyways, people who like good food should save their money by avoiding this place...

Casual and cheap.
I was impressed with the food ... there was so much and it's cheap! My dad's hard to please when he goes out for dinner and they take credit cards which makes it better. Be prepared to wait for service if you're not at the bar. It's nothing awful and the help's nice ... there's just not much of it. Most people tend to do take out.

Private Little Japanese Shop.
We've been going here at least once a week since we've found this place, we love the sushi rolls, especially the philli, their fish are really fresh and probably one of the best sushi I've had for such a small under-estimated place. The terriyaki dishes are excellent and same with the calamari and tempura. It's cozy and comfortable and the prices cannot be beat, we can have a philli roll, a crunch roll and a one item chichen terriyaki which comes with awsome soup and salad - enough to fill both of us - for $20!!! I love this place!
