AMAZINGLY delicious Greek Salad!!!!. I started working in Irvine (airport close) in the late 90's and was lucky enough to be introduced to Greek Island Cuisine within my first week of work! I have been coming here ever since and will keep coming for 20 more years just to get the Greek Salad. It is that good! The ingredients are super fresh and the dressing is homemade and the best I have ever tasted. Yes, it's in a food court (and not a fancy one and the parking situation pretty much sucks at lunch), but don't let that stop you! It is the best option in any food court, hands down. You can order the Greek Salad with chicken, gyro or shrimp (not little shrimp but large grilled and seasoned to perfection shrimp!). I really can't decide which of the three choices is the best because they are all amazing! The chicken is well seasoned and usually moist and served warm. The gyro meat is so wonderful - thick, thick slices that are placed on the grill for a few minutes before serving (so they are nice and hot and have that grilled flavor) that are unparalleled in any other fast food restaurant you will find anywhere. The shrimp are not little shrimp but large, fresh grilled shrimp seasoned to perfection. Unfortunately, I have never tried anything else on the menu even though I have eaten there at least 100 times!!! It's so good that over the years when I have not worked in the Irvine/Newport area, I came on weekends just to get my fix. But this location is no longer open on weekends. Now you have to go to their new location (at Diamond Jamboree) for a Saturday fix. That one is a nicer atmosphere as well (sit down restaurant) but still extremely casual. For lunch at the Main Street location, the secret is to call ahead and it will be ready for you when you get there. Otherwise plan on a good 10-15 minute wait since they are ALWAYS busy at lunch!

Best Greek food around!. Hands down the best Greek Salad and dressing I've ever tasted! And the Gyro meat is even better than anything I tasted in Greece! It's a great place to stop and grab a quick lunch, but I prefer their other location for dining in meals or larger parties.

Best Greek in Irvine for fast food. Greek Islands Cuisine is the BEST, Much better than Daphnes. Their gyros salad is wonderful and fresh. I also love their Mousaka. I try to go there for lunch when I can. I even do take out and have it for dinner when on my way home. The parking can be atrocious at lunch because of the food court but it is well worth it. I wish they had a closer one to South Coast Plaza. : )

FABULOUS Greek Salad!!. Working in Irvine, I discovered this little gem a few years back during lunch hour with some coworkers wanting to visit the neighboring Baja Fresh. What a find! It's in a food court and crazy busy at lunch, but the chaos is definitely worth it! The first time I frequented Greek Islands, I ordered the Greek Salad with Chicken (with onions, extra dressing on the side, and I top it off with some strong shakes of sumac). I was in LOVE! The salad is always super fresh, the dressing is AMAZING (hence the extra), and it's a perfect harmony in your mouth! Although, I must admit I've only sampled a limited share of the items on the menu since I was hooked at first taste on the greek salad with chicken. This is my (and my close friends') FAVORITE greek salad ever, hand down!
