Excellent Academic Program.
Awesome! We transitioned our 5 year old from a traditional daycare to Turtlerocks Pre-K Program and it was the best decision. The curriculum is very strong and our daughter blossomed with the academic challenges. On our drives home she was always talking about the lessons, was truly excited and loved learning. The teachers are great and very supportive. We recieved daily notifications on her mood, how she ate, how she slept... The playground area is perfect and has so many options for exercise and play. "Free Time" involves creative play, music books etc NOT sitting in front of a movie! We loved that! Our daughter came home from school energized and excited about her day.
The facility was secure without feeling institutional and all the staff are extremely helpful. The building and classrooms are clean and well maintained. The teachers seem to love what they do and the kids as well.
I would highly recommend!
five star. My son went here for preschool and the teachers are outstanding!! I never once in three years had a complaint about anyone in the staff. The curriculeum was top-knotch and he absolutely loved going to school there. I would highly recommend this preschool to anyone!
Caution. If you have boys or active girls consider another school. This school is expensive, but likes an easy time. If they could have just sweet girls there they would.
Amazing Preschool/Daycare Experience.
I have two kids at Turtle Rock and couldn't be happier with my decision. I felt compelled to write a review after reading two other commentaries that I felt were completely off the mark.
My children started in the nursery and have moved through the program. Each classroom experience has been absolutely fantastic. All of the teachers in the school know my kids' names and engage them in coversations throughout the day, when we arrive in the morning and when we go home at night. The front office staff is also incredibly friendly and knows each and every child. It really is a strong family environment.
In the 2.5 years that the kids have been attending the school we have not seen any turnover whatsoever. We left the previous daycare because of high turnover, so this is an area that I paid special attention to when evaluating Turtle Rock. In fact, one of my daughter's teachers has been with the school for 24 years!
Lesson plans for the week are sent home each Friday for the preschoolers and the lunches are healthy and affordable. Lunch is also included until the kids turn 2. Once a month there is also a kids night out option that allows kids to stay on a Friday evening until 10 pm to have pizza and watch a movie so that Mom and Dad can have an evening out. What a treat!
The only con I could list is the semi-annual fundraisers. There's no pressure to participate, but I still wish they weren't part of the operation.
4 Stars. I've been sending our chid here for over 2 years and feel it is such a great place for him to learn and play with other children in the neighborhood, It really is a fantastic school.
I Was Pleasantly Surprised!!!. I just enrolled my son in preschool at Turtle Rock. I have been looking into preschools for over a year to feel out the best setting. Within minutes, I fell in love with TRP and knew this would be the place to fulfill my son's academic and social needs. Anna, the Assistant Director, was incredibly professional and knowledgeable. She answered each of my questions thoroughly and made me feel right at home. She went through a detailed tour and requirements for enrollment. I am usually reluctant to make on the spot decisions but I literally knew within minutes that this was my top pick. Unfortunately, there was a waiting list but Kristen in the office worked diligently to secure an opening, which did not take horribly long. The staff is friendly, there are terrific enrichment programs that we are eager to try and the place is clean and aesthetically pleasing. I look forward to seeing my son's progress and I feel certain he is in good hands here. I read the negative review regarding high turnover. Parent's, I would not be discouraged by that review because it is even worse in a home day care, plus you have to deal with personal drama in those settings. If you want structure for your child, this really appears to be a good place. The staff also appears to have very fun, loving attitudes as well. Tuition is also very reasonable for full day, which is what I need as a single parent. It does not include food but it is about $30/wk cheaper than Kindercare. They do offer hot meals though at a fairly reasonable price. One of my hot buttons was minimal days of closure. They only have about 3 staff development days and major holidays off.
5 star preschool!. I have a 2 and 3 year old and hardly find the time to write this review - but I felt it was important to help other moms like me. I visited around 25 preschools in the area and chose to waitlist my kids at Turtlerock Preschool (even though many others had immediate opening) for many reasons. The front office staff and the director were so personable and friendly, and so were all the teachers! The minute I walked into the secure facility I KNEW this was THE SCHOOL for my kids! Upon receiving a thorough tour of the ultra-clean facilities, I was even more impressed and couldn't wait to get my kids in. I am the pickiest person that I know and there was not one thing I could find wrong with the school! I finally got in and it was well worth the wait. This is the picture of the type of preschool I had always pictured my kids attending. Now I can go back to work with a peace of mind knowing that my kids are in a happy & nurturing environment!
Love it. Both our son and daughter love their teachers. Lots of new things added to the school this last year and after touring other schools in the area we know we made the right choice. Teachers and front office staff are all so nice and helpful
Wish we were still at Turtle Rock Preschool!!!. We left the school two months ago because of a job transfer. I was so sorry to leave. We have had 3 children go to Turtle Rock and have had such a great time. They were one of the few schools that take infants where we lived and it was so hard to leave each baby but the care given the children was so warm that it made it an easy transition. My oldest was there from age 2 months through kindergarten. Their costs are reasonable and even though tuition has gone up a little we can see the money is being put back into the hiring of good teachers and adding new things to the classrooms. Now that we are at a new school we realize how good Turtle Rock was. The new school is okay but we miss the family atmosphere and unlike Turle Rock which is locally owned, the new school is run by a large national corporation and so there is little personal interaction. The long waiting list is understandable in order to get into Turtle Rock considering the good reputation (over 29 years in its location) but it can be frustrating -- but well worth the wait. Also anytime I had a question or concern I was given a lot of time and was always happy with the communication.
Warm and Wonderful. I have had two children in the school and have had nothing but wonderful experiences. The teachers are all loving and kind and my daughter went into first grade totally prepared for elementary school. The new owners have added so many wonderful new things to the school and continues to add improvements. The rooms are bright and attractive and the security is first class
