The pros and cons of Mother' Market in Irvine according to me.
Pros: great selection of organic foods, packaged or fresh, competitively priced, usually well-stocked, clean, helpful staff if they are not preoccupied, and food from the "kitchen" restaurant is usually very good.
Cons: Service is always painfully-slow in the "kitchen" restaurant, shopping aisles are narrow, parking can be an issue pretty much all day every day, except when they first open, and the cashiers are clueless (usually college-aged people with a blank expression on their face) and rarely courteous. This, the cashier attitude, has been my experience in every location I have visited: Long Beach, Newport Beach, Laguna Woods, and Irvine. I don't know why.
good, healthy (or so it seems) food =). i was searching for a somewhat healthy restaurant here in orange county, and i came across mother's market. apparently, it's actually in the midst of an actual market hehe. the food was good, seemed healthy, and the service was quick.
This organic, veggie-friendly cafe and market makes good, clean living palatable for O.C. residents..
In Short
Orange County's premier health-food supermarket and eatery is brimming with treats for the vegetarian, with a few meat options to please the carnivore. While the menu offers some chicken and turkey items, you'll mostly find tempting veggie takes on traditional cafe fare, like meatless BLTs and hot dogs, tempeh Reubens and a club sandwich boasting soy turkey and fake bacon. Peruse the aisles for a dizzying array of good-for-you groceries and household items.
Great Vegetarian and Vegan Food. A healthier choice for Vegetarians and Vegans....shop at the same time in the market.
