Great place for a quick Mexican meal!. Great place. Several locations. Irvine location is nice with quick service. Can usually get in easily on weekends at 6PM. Tons of coupons floating around for free sodas or 20% off entire bill. If you live in Irvine, the coupons are mailed in a coupon package every few weeks.

Only negative is the chips and salsa. The chips are FULL size taco tortillas... so you have to crush them all with your hands before you can really eat them!

Best Crispy Shreded Beef Tacos. Verry unique & old stlye of Mexican. So, So, GOOD!!. gET THE TACOS. If you have been searching for the most flavoriful Fried fresh corn shells, A " How do they do that?!" secret flavor of fresh shreeded beef, & Outstanding Cheese dishes, Chilie Relnos Buritos & the absoulte most traditional tasing salsa north of the border,...than look no further. My family have been going to Super Mex Restaurant sience the mid 1980's. There will never be any other Mexican restaurant than our holy super mex in Fountain Valley. Located on Brookhurst Street

I LOVE their guacamole!. Their guacamole is one of the freshest ones that you can get at a restaurant. I have nothing but great things to stay about the food, staff and restaurant as a whole. If you haven't tried their ground beef tacos yet, do it today! Yummy!!

Bad Service, not worth the mediocre food. I have eaten at the Irvine location many times and experienced progressively worse service with each visit. Still returning with hopes that it will improve, unfortunately this Sunday was the last time.

It was Super Bowl Sunday and my friend and I were the only customers dining in the restaurant. We waited in the lobby area for quite some time until we were seated, we noticed that the majority of the employees were watching the game and were unaware that we had been waiting. Finally we were seated but felt rushed to order. Once we ordered it took a very long period to get our drinks. All of the employees in the restaurant were watching the television, screaming loudly and chanting. My friend and I almost left because we could not hear each other it was so loud. We proceeded to wait 45 MINUTES to get a taco and an enchilada. We had noticed it sitting in the kitchen waiting to be picked up by the waiter, while even some of the people from the kitchen were out watching the television. When we received our food it was cold and thrown together. The waiter asked after he delivered our food if I needed a refill and I said yes. He took my cup and he did not check on us or bring my refill for another 25 MINUTES. He happened to walk past our table and I asked him if he could bring my drink back, where he just said ?Oh, I forgot.? And walked away. I never got my drink back. We tried to eat our unsatisfactory meals until we decided there was no use. Considering how long it had taken to be noticed, given our food, our drinks, our refills? we could only image how long it would take to get our check. We walked out without paying, not to our surprise, none of the employees noticed that we had left even though we walked out past them crowded around the television.

Just go to El Torito.

Wrost Mexican food I ever had!!!. This place is not authentic. I would say more Americanize Mexican but that does not matter because the food is horrible and disgusting. I personally will never be back there again. There are many more choices around the area that are way better. I ordered an asada beef enchilada with all beans and got shredded beef enchilada with all rice. Staff was courteous and brought me a plate of beans. The shredded beef tasted like dry beef jerky with no flavors. I would avoid this place.

Very Authentic. This is one of the few places in OC where you can find a variety of authentic mexican food at a reasonable price.
