What Our Expert Scouts Say

Mr. Chow
February 06, 2013

I love to have date nights here. The noodles are hand made in front of you if you go at the right time of the day. Must get items are : 9 season prawns, Mr. Chow noodles, chicken satay and the peking duck.

Mr. Chow has the best menu!. They have the best menu. It feels like I want to buy everything from it! Well I ordered their Fried Shrimp and it tastes really good. It's a must try for Mr. Chow. I plan on having our family dinner their this coming Saturday. This is a one of a kind restaurant.

WORST DINING EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. I took a client here and we were both VERY disappointed with the food, service and ambiance. The food was mediocre at best. The restaurant looked old and run down and looks nothing like what you see on their website. The worst part, was that after a $140 bill and one hour of eating and socializing with my client we were asked to leave because they needed to turn the table over. I was not only shocked but mortified. I am disgusted by this establishment and my guess is that the only reason why it continues to stay is business is because of it' location.

Nice Chinese food presented in western style. I took some Chinese friends visiting US there, only because it's within walking distance from their hotel to the restaurant. So I didn't expect much at first . But we were all surprised and love it - It is authentic Chinese food in Beverly Hills. Can you imagine it? The restaurant was packed that day. We ignored the loudness since the food was so good.

Mr Chow sucks!. avoid at all costs!!!!!

after being to the LA and NY restaurants of the Mr Chow chain, i was in London with my parents and decided to take them out for crispy duck - i was stupid enough to take them Mr Chow, simply because i had had good experiences at their LA and NY restaurants years ago.

What a lame, terrible, humiliating experience it was: the maitre d', a Brazilian by the name of Marcelo, took my simple order of "crispy duck for 4" and transformed it into a tour de force where i never managed to touch my crispy duck. this cheap (as in low and diselegant) restaurant probably wanted to make some extra pounds on my bill, so the emmigré dumped everything on the menu. i tried cancelling the duck but he made me a doggy bag which i never touched (obviously!).

stay away from decadent restaurants, avoid Mr Chow.

Impressive. I've been to Mr. Chow now about half a dozen times with either a client or a friend visiting from out of state. It's by far one of the most impressive dining experiences around LA. The energy in the place is very contagious and you are surrounded by a cool group of people. But what keeps me coming back here for special occasions is the food. The gnoochi with oysters is unbelievably delicious, the drunken fish is another fav and Mr. Chow noodles is a must. I always end up staying longer here because the high energy vibe makes you feel a bit like you're at a super chic party.

Had a Wonderful Meal at Mr. Chow restaurant. I attended the Creme of the Crop BET awards after party at Mr. Chow. The event as a whole was fantastic but the most amazing part was the fantastic dish the chefs prepared specially for the guests at this event. It was a mix of Frida Kahlo tequila, lobster and fresh garlic. It was the best lobster dish I've ever tasted. I want to go back this weekend so my husband can taste the lobster dish too! This is the first time I've ever had a tequila infused dish and i cant wait to go back and have more!

DO NOT GO HERE. EXPENSIVE + BAD QUALITY + RUDE STAFF.. I wish I had four hands so I could give this place four thumbs down. Cataclysmic. Completely out of this world.

I went to this ghastly place to have a nice evening with a couple of friends. We were 6 altogether. Here's what happened. We had a reservation, double-confirmed and acknowledged, and found out upon timely arrival that we'll have to wait for "10-15" minutes. This turned into a good 45 minutes. Forget about expecting an apology. After sitting down in something that resembles a cubicle made for 1 person and not for 6 we started studying the menu and asked for recommendations which were literally the most expensive food on the entire menu. Ridiculous. I don't need a waiter slash sales person when I am asking for an honest recommendation.

After I jokingly asked the waiter if he could recommend anything that would be more moderately priced I got a snappy response "I don't know what you like" out of the blue after which he caught himself and directly put his fake smile on again.

Anyways, the food turned out to be partly undercooked (we had it returned to the kitchen and redone) and really on par with PANDA EXPRESS. Mind you that we are not gourmets of any kind, but can tell if food is plainly bad. What we received was what you would expect from a fast food chain.

Given that our final bill ended up being well over $500 I feel cheated out of my money.

Bottom Line.

1) Dont go here.

2) Tell all your family, friends, and coworkers not to go here.

3) Go to a good restaurant. Mr Chow is NOT where you want to go. Mark my words.
