Fancy Gym.. but still FUN. This place really intimidated me at first.... when you walk up to the place its absolutely HUGE!! I wasn't sure if I was going into a gym or a hotel. The place is gorgeous.. marble... vaulted ceilings... great veiws of OC... To be honest it looked a bit pretentious.. I thought typical OC...but to my surprise it wasn't like my last experience at South Coast.. people actually smiled that worked there!! Needless to say its a little different than the hole in the wall 24 hr. fit. I'd been frequenting... Anyways my friend took me as a guest... and she made me try a Yoga class, which I hadn't done in years - but I really appreciated this class because the instructor because he wasn't just going through the motions- he wanted to make sure we understood what we were doing to our body and really understand what was supposed to be going on in each pose - n he didn't go crazy with all the spiritual guru stuff some yogis do.. Anyhow I've been back 2 times since as her guest to brave more classes. I loved their step class- and abs class! they kicked my butt! I am definitely going back.

Fantastic Facilities. I heard the reputation this club brings to the table and it truly shows. For me this place is exactly what I needed and I should have sucked it up years ago and checked it out. Maybe I would have been more motivated to exercise if I knew what this place actually had to offer. Great job guys, keep it up.

The Best. I was looking at the site with a friend i wanted to come into the gym and saw the review from "AlwaysAnOptomist" and they most certainly don't seem to be an optomist. I love this GYM! I have been a member for 3 years and the Sports Club is amazing. There was a lot of trainers who left but most were so negative, gossipy and a lot looked like muscleheads. I don't train often but the people in the Gym are noticeably friendlier than a few months ago. Also, the shower pressure was really weak this past year but the Gym installed new shower heads that are the best showers i have ever used! I look forward to the shower almost more than anything when i go to work out. As a Laker Fan I was most excited when I saw KOBE BRYANT working out in the Gym. He was really friendly and i have seen him several times since. Enough said, this place is fantastic and I bring everyone one I know to the Club. AlwaysAnOptamist must be one of thoes cranky old members that I don't see hanging around the club anymore..... If you are reading this, go to the Gym and see for yourself, its the best around!

Going Down Hill..... This place used to be so much better than it is now. The service has all but disappeared. The top trainers in the area have all jumped ship. They fired almost all of their best long time employees. The manager is cluless and keeps a fake smile on his face while his long time members (me 13 yrs) are either gone are getting ready to leave. Now that the membership is at an all time low, they are raising prices on EVERYthing but the membership. This place used to be an exclusive feeling club but now with the $0 initiation promos that keep popping up, the type of member has even changed. You would think the priority would be keeping the long time, MONEY SPENDING members happy but the direction this club is going there won't be a club much longer. It's sad really..

The Best Sports Club in the World!. I recently moved to Newport Beach and joined the Sports Club L.A in Orange County. I have to say I have never been so impressed by a gym! i mean you really can't call this place a gym; they have a full service spa and hair salon, a clothing store to die for, two restaurants, sushi and a bar! I could live in this place! The staff is amazing...I've been a member less than a month and they already know me by name! I'm really into yoga and am so impressed by the instructors. I even tried a rowing and spinning class and loved them! I travel all over the world for my job and have used many gyms but NOTHING compares to this place. It's the best treat I ever bought myself and the price was right! Go check it out, I promise you won't be dissapointed!

Best Club in Southern California. As a native of Southern California working out and staying in shape has always been a staple in my life. I have worked out at just about every Gym from LA to San Diego and there is nothing like The Sports Club La. It has Valet, the Cleanest gym floor and locker room, sushi bar, sports bar, and sundeck. The best part is that you aren't surrounded by those sloppy gym folks you find at 24 hour fitness or other Gyms. The crowd is deiverse but refined with just enough ladies to keep me interested but not distracted. I spend about 10 hours a week at the Club and it is one of my favorite little indulgences. Many of my colleagues are members of Country Clubs with only golf and tennis for thousands a month. I pay $240 for Executive Membership and get a whole lot more of them. Don't tell, i don't want it to get too crowded.......

Irvine - Sports Club Los Angeles. Great facility, great staff..... member of the Original club and use this one as a satellite location when I am in town.
