Fantastic Dinner and Entertainment. This restaurant was recommended by a friend who told us great things about the food and entertainment, so we went last week-end with several friends. We had wine (which came with a complimentary pate platter), and then ordered the Osso Bucco, Monk Fish, and several dinner crepes. The dinner was delicious, but even better was the delightful entetainment offered. The singer does many classics, and it was a perfect accompanyment to our dinner. We stayed the entire evening talking and listening to the music. At the end, we shared a full order of Profiteroles (comes with 4 -- one for each of us). They were filled with the most delightful homemade vanilla ice cream, decidedly the best I have ever tasted! This is a delightful dinner experience and a great place to spend the evening relaxing, eating, and listening to music.
Great Sunday Brunch. My friends and I tried Lulu?s for brunch on Sunday ? and it was hopping!!! We had to wait about 15 minutes to get a table --- it was WELL WORTH IT! We had the eggs benedict, an omelet they call the ?Zorba? (a Greek omelet filled with feta cheese and Kalamata olives), a ?Mission? crepe (Southwestern topped avocados), and the ?Sicilian? (Italian with sausage). I think I now need to go back to try them all! If you go on Sunday, be prepared for a wait ? the place is really popular on the week-ends! We thought it was well worth the few minutes wait. The wait staff was friendly and helpful. The coffee was ?bottomless? --- and delicious! I asked and found out it was Dietrich?s coffee --- very good!!! Now I know why I miss Dietrich?s.
Awesome Restaurant.
We have been coming to Lulu's Creperie Cafe for several years now, and we love this place. We go for a quiet evening of wine, food, and entertainment. It is quaint -- family-owned, and the owner comes out to check to make sure everything is to our satisfaction. Our favorite foods include the Osso Bucco, Salmon, and, of course -- the crepes! At the end of out meal, we usually have a scoop of their homemade ice cream on top their very best dessert crepe --- the "Irish". The Irish has Bailey's Irish Cream in it -- topped with carmelized bananas and fresh strawberries.
They have added excellent entertainment as well on the week-ends --- currently they have a jazz singer who is worth the trip to hear! All in all, a great experience!
Wow - Great Dinner AND Entertainment!. We visited Lulu's Creperie Cafe for dinner on Friday evening this week and were treated to the most memorable jazz singer over dinner. It was incredible! My husband and I went with several friends and stayed on just to continue to hear the performance. We had the most incredible frog's legs (where can you get those in Orange County???) that were so authentic, we thought we were back in France! The Coq au Vin was delicious as was the Sweetbreads (wow!) Oh, for dessert, we had profiteroles with the most delicious homemade ice cream! The profiteroles alone were worth the trip. The service was perfect. We love this place --- a new favorite for us!
Horrible !!!!!!. we went on saturday night...only 4 people were eating...i should know it was a sign that this restaurant was not good>>>first my wife and a couple next to us saw a "ratatouille" (animal), i should have listen my wife, but i asked her to stay just to see if the food was ok...the food was a scandal ...the filet migon was from the freezer, look like has been overthere for a little while as the fish from my wife ( THE SMELL STILL REMEMBER IT) took one bite...wow...knew right away i would get sick as my wife with her fish...well we got sick....I CANT BELIEVE THAT THE CITY REVIEW STILL HAS 4 1/2 STARS FOR THIS PLACE !!!! I THINK THE LAST REVIEW WAS FROM 2007<<<COME ON GUYS !!!! the only thing french here was the name... maybe....
We were so sorry to hear of your experience at our restaurant. First, I would like to assure you that our policy is to refund or replace ANY meal that is not to your satisfaction, for any reason. We make every effort to check with our tables to ensure that they have had a good experience, as that is our goal. We would appreciate the ability to make this up to you. We are always vigilant for "ratatouille", especially in the fall. Our pest control company has surveyed the area and taken all measures. We have went over the review with the kitchen staff to ensure everyone is aware of the quality standards of food.
Great family restaurant that caters to adult and children's palates!. We ate several meals at Lulus on a recent trip to Southern California. My eleven year old son and seven year old daughter loved the sandwiches, crepes and breakfast. My husband and I enjoyed delicious sand dabs and French onion soup one night and we decided to have Thanksgiving dinner there as well. The meal exceeded our expectations. The pricing is very reasonable for the quality and the service is friendly and efficient.
Adorable Restaurant and Delicious Food. We are from Northern California and consider ourselves very discerning about food. I can tell you, we were totally BLOWN AWAY by the quality of the food at Lulu's Creperie Cafe!!! We are so grateful for the friends who recommended this restaurant to us during our stay. We must have eaten there daily during our recent trip. The crepes are some of the best we have ever had. We found out that the chef was one of the first to bring Brittany crepes to the West Coast over 30 years ago! They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The variety and the quality of the meals are outstanding. The decor is lovely --- it makes you forget you are in the heart of Orange County and can easily imaging yourself in the middle of the French countryside!
Great Food and Great Ambiance. This is a great little restaurant with the best Brittany crepes I have tasted outside of France! However, they have many other choices as well --- the Salmon is another favorite of mine! The ambiance is delightful --- a romantic place to go at dinnertime! This listing is a duplicate --- it is now called Lulu's Creperie & Cafe --- just so you don't get confused!
Uninvited guest!. My husband and I heard through the grapevine that Lulu Cafe offers wonderful selection of breakfast and lunch menu so we decided to try it out. The first time we came was 2 weeks ago and had a good first impression of the place and the service it offered. So we came back again to try out different items just last weekend and was sat down at the outside patio table. As I was settling down on my seat and laying out the knapkin on my laps, the corner of my eyes notice a moving 'little thing' against the wall under our table. Not in my dream I would have guessed that 'little thing' that was moving and nibbling was a 'tiny version of the MickeyMouse'! Yes, you read it right and I'm not kidding. I'm not sure how important this piece of information sounds to you, but I know for sure I will never come back there again. Even though the staffs were trying to 'trap the creature' and assured us that because the seats were on the outside patio instead of being inside, it does not make it right for us as customers to see such things in an environment where sanitation should be the main concern. Also, the french door to the outside patio is always wide open, there is a great chance that there would be more than 1 of those creatures could be running around and get inside and who knows, perhaps in the kitchen. Anyhow, I would NOT recommend this place to anyone, unless you don't mind to run in an unvited guest like I did!
We love this place!. Lulu's has one of the best atmospheres of any cafe around! During the day, it is light and cheery, and the patio is perfect in all kinds of weather. We have been dining here for years, not only for the warm smiles and 'Bon Jour' that greet us, but also for the delicious and unique cuisine. While we enjoy indulging in the heavenly croissants, scrumptious crepes and amazing dinners, my frequent requirements for low-cal meals are easy to accommodate. Lulu's is a very special place, an oasis from the chain restaurants and predictable menus that have invaded the world of dining. For a meal at least, we feel that we're in Europe . . . tasty food, unhurried atmosphere, comfortable decor . . . nothing 'cookie-cutter' here! And if you come frequently, as we do, you'll soon find that you're one of the many 'regulars' who are blessed to feel at home here.
