Editorial Review for Winston's – by Michael Martin
In Short
The unmarked door can make this modern speakeasy a challenge to find, and the uber-hip owners (including Dime owner Andy Fiscella and GQ editor Chris Huvane) seem to like it that way. The decor celebrates 1920s Tinseltown, with masculine black banquettes, ornate oil paintings and a vintage crystal chandelier poised at the center of the bar. Operated in a similar manner to their Fairfax lounge--namely, no promoters or unbreakable guest lists--the bar attracts whippet-thin starlets and their scruffy-faced boyfriends on a daily basis.

Insider Tips
ParkingThe club's valet is stationed at Spaulding. Meters are available along Santa Monica Boulevard, but all surrounded side streets are restricted parking with tow truck enforcement.
Know Before You GoThe space is rather small for Hollywood and does reach capacity early. Priority entry is given to bottle service tables.
When to GoBeloved house DJs spin vintage '80s and '90s anthems that turn progressively louder throughout the night. It's best to get there early if you want quiet conversation.

OMG, First of all, let me tell you, I go out all the time, but this place is the BEST! I went there on a Saturday night, OMG you guys, the doormen were the NICEST people, and let me right in. Yes, I was in Playboy last month, but come on, I'm sure those cute doormen treat everybody as good, we're all neighbors! As soon as I got in, OMG you guys the music was just AMAZING! I have never heard better music ANYWHERE and I go out all the time. After dancing a little, I went to the bar and OMG you guys, the bartenders were the NICEST people, I barely had to wait for anything! I will definately be back several nights a week, nobody in L.A. treats you better than WINSTON'S! OMG, I'm thinking of renting an apartment accross the street, just so I can be closer to this place. If you aren't with me on the dance floor at Winston's, there must be something wrong with you. OMG.
Pros: The staff, the music, the prices, the decor, the look, the smell
Cons: no such thing at Winston's

This place was a real gem amoung the hollywood cool spots. Unfortunately it showed up on an Episode of "Entourage". This kinda put this place on the map for all the "I wanna be like that" crowds. This is a very cool spot. Have only been on Saturdays. nice decor, good looking people, mixed crowd, and great DJ. The service and drinks are great. All this adds up to what would be a good Sat nite destination, IF YOU COULD GET IN, that is. Like i said, used to be a great spot before showin up on TV. Now it seems like every nite is a "Private Party". My advice is to call ahead and see if its open to the public on whichever nite you wanna go. Saturday nites are probably a no-go, but check it out for a mid-week romp. you mite get lucky. If you can get in, you should have a great time.
Pros: Nice classy bar with good music n drinks
Cons: You may have to book your own private party to find out
