Hidden Jem. My wife and I go here when we have our monthly romantic outing away from the kids. The experience is always delightful, pleasant comfortable atmosphere and exquisite cuisine. This place is a must if ever in the area.

An absolute disaster!. We went to dinner before a play, as did many other customers, allowing 90 minutes to eat. Oddly, the place was only half full. Our appetizers and wine came in a timely manner and everything was perfect. Then the wait staff disappeared for 45 minutes! We had to leave in order to get to the play and it was 5 minutes before we could locate a waitress. It turned out that ten people - YES TEN PEOPLE were experiencing the same thing - no entree and no service!! All of us walked out without paying. Someone heard that there was a new chef. Bullpucky! One thing they need is a new manager! We'll never, ever go there again.

Can You Say Hell's Kitchen?. Waiter did not know what Vodkas the bar had so I took the liberty of correcting him. The waiter proceeded taking the wrong entree order for my boyfriend. When my order of Filet Mignon arrived, it was still pulsating (I ordered medium rare). When the incorrect order arrived for my boyfriend, the Filet Mignon (which should have been Rib-Eye) was cooked well done (which he ordered medium rare for the Rib-Eye). Both pieces of meat would have ended up being flung at a wall if this were a Hell's Kitchen episode. A special note for the bizarre desert menu, Guinness beer foam is NOT a dessert. The only suggested recourse for the mis-hap was refunding our pre-dinner cocktails which added insult to injury after we spent over $100 on a bottle of wine and over $100 on food. Truly a disappointing experience for the money paid.

One of the Best Restaurants in OC. Having been to most of the best restaurants in OC over the years I'm happy to report that Leatherby's delivers on all fronts.

They have a new Chef (Lauren) who is putting out fabulous food.

First before you make the reservation find out if there is a Performance that night, if so consider a different time when the Restaurant isn't as busy.

We recommend the Tasting Menu which is executed perfectly. I can't remember better food in OC for quite sometime. Very high quality ingredients.

Long wait....for a dissapointing dinner.. We had gone to see the Opera production of "Carmen." On our way over to a dinner reservation across the street, the Cafe Rouge caught our attention. It sits right on the second level of the new glass wall addition in the Orange County Performing Arts Center. At one time, my boyfriend had been a cook at another Patina Group restaurant. Having never gotten a chance to taste the fare at that particular one, I was able to guilt him into taking me to this one. They were very quick to seat us even without a reservation. With such a quick seating we thought we could expect good service within the hour and half we had before our show started to seat. Little did I know that, by the end of our meal, I would be scrambling to try to finish my meal to see the show in time.

Our server seemed friendly to us in the first few times she visited us. We ordered drinks and food and thought nothing of it. We talked and enjoyed the atmosphere of the room. Yet, an hour after we had ordered a fish and a chicken dinner, we were still waiting for the meal. We could have understood an explanation, but our waitress never came near enough for us to ask her if there was a wait until a second before our food came out. Yet, our meal was not even carried by her, but two other men who we hadn't seen as wait staff all night.

After this long wait, we figured the food must be worth it, right? Absolutely not. My chicken tasted just like that, chicken. It was crisp and tasted quite well on the outside, but was actually very dry and tough on the inside. As usual of some Contemporary cuisine, it was pretentious with little reason to be.

I had heard a lot of good things about the Patina Group and so I maybe I came in expecting something out of the experience. I failed to remember that just because you have a name, does not mean you serve food worth the wait and expense.

I'm still willing to eat at another Patina Group restaurant, but certainly not the Cafe Rouge.

Modern American cuisine served in a swanky setting for a celebratory lunches and elegant dinners.. In Short
Designed to complement the adjoining Renee and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall, this elegant space features high-backed banquettes surrounded by shiny steel. Gleaming glass and a color palette of blues, greens and tans provide a stylish backdrop for a preconcert meal. Executive Chef Joachim Splichal, noted for his flagship eatery Patina in downtown Los Angeles, created a menu that includes specialties like Sonoma duck breast on candied yams with pomegranate jus, and macadamia nut-crusted ono with lemongrass-coconut sauce.
