Editorial Review for Chrissy Bee Boutique & Gallery – by Catherine Wargo
In Short
Owners Anya Zebroski and Deborah Genet's doors just off of Haight Street open to reveal a shop that carries sophisticated answers to the Upper Haight's typical hemp and incense outlets. Featuring Yumi Kim's gorgeous silk creations, Made's cotton basics and Scanty's hip sleepwear, an eclectic selection decorates the small, simply decorated space. The store also functions as a gallery, with monthly rotating exhibitions by local artists.

Very cool shop. Was in town from Santa Monica on my way up to Napa for a wedding and had to buy a clutch. Chrissy Bee has some beautiful purses, handbags and clutches. Unfortunately, I had to return the clutch which was not a big issue since the store carries cute items and an exchange was all I needed. The only downside to my experience was the sales associate; she was there when I bought the clutch and I found her unfriendly, unhelpful and impersonal. Trying to make conversation made me feel as though I was talking to myself so I just gave up. When I did my exchange, I was hoping someone else would be there but it was her again. She didn't seem to remember me even though I was there only two days prior and she didn't return the message I had left on their voice mail about doing the exchange. In the end, she did my exchange and credit note and she was somewhat helpful in getting it done. She mentioned she wasn't an owner, so I'd like to go back when one of the owners are there as other reviews mention how nice and helpful they are!
Pros: Quality boutique in the Haight
Cons: Less than friendly sales associate

On top of having a great selection and friendly staff, Chrissy Bee customer service is fantastic. I bought a blouse for my wife while visiting SF, and back home found it was the wrong size (I won't say if I thought she was bigger or smaller than she really is... there's no safe answer to that one). No problem! just mailed it back -- Deborah remembered both me and my purchase -- and a replacement was on it's way in a day or so. Personalized and attentive service like this will win me over from main street retailers every time!
