Long wait times, bad experiences & staff couldn't care less!. Terrible experience....not once but three times. We still have three races left on our race package but we wont use them. For some reason, this place is a magnet for 20-40 year old males who think go-kart racing is their ticket to fame and glory by smashing any opponent in their way....yelling, cussing, and throwing their helmet at my 10 year old son. The race staff did nothing to stop this either. My son was struck and pushed into the barrier wall backward on the track with two other drivers who had him pinned while the other racers were able to complete three laps around the track (stuck & being intimidated/yelled at for a long time). During this time, the aggressive psycho's were yelling and cussing at my son. My son is a star tackle football player and isn't afraid of much, he's a pretty tough kid, but after this experience, he doesn't want to race anymore. I wish I could say this is just limited to aggression toward the inexperienced drivers but my husband and I have also had two bad experiences where psycho Indy 500 wanna-be's get their kicks from forcing other drivers into the barrier walls while the staff does nothing about it. K-1 staff need to BE MORE AWARE of problems AND separate groups according to those who are racing for FUN and those who think they are COMPETITIVE racers....
Only recommended if you want your stuff stolen..
As instructed I put my valuables in the bins before I was racing. Unfortunately my $200 watch somehow disappeared. Either one of the employees took it or they didn’t take enough precaution to ensure that nobody else takes stuff.
The thing that upset me even more than the watch being stolen is the fact that the staff didn't care about it.
K1 Speed = racing fun.
I wanted to write a review for K1 Speed Irvine because this is my home track. I try to get out here a couple of time a month. Its always the same story I get out there and have a blast. I only other track I have ventured out too, is the Anaheim. I have enjoyed both, but Irvine is the place to be.
Thanks for the hot laps and great times.
Coolest indoor race track in Irvine. I've been a fan of K1 for years now. I go to the Carlsbad location whenever my friends and I need a cool place to unwind or need a birthday party venue. I checked out the Irvine location recently and was thrilled to see that the integrity of the company continued at other locations. Staff was amazing, memorabilia was fun to look at, and the location was clean and inviting. I've checked out Pole Position too, just to see if I was missing out on anything. Nope. Pole Position doesn't really compare service-wise. I'll continue to bring my friends to K1...keep up the good work guys!
I prefer the concrete at Pole Position Raceway. The track was ok, the staff was a bit young and rude for my taste. I personally prefer the concrete track that Pole Position Raceway uses. It doesn't grip like the asphalt, so at Pole Position I am able to drift and slide around the corners. It feels more like real racing to me. Pole Position also has a bad a@@ driving video featuring Jamie Little from ESPN. go check them out in person or check them out on the web. polepositionraceway dot com
Best Indoor karting around. And what a GREAT VIDEO!!. Best indoor racing around. Very realistic racing pit atmosphere. Great staff. Family fun. A snack bar with plenty of goods and refreshments. a game room with some hot video games and air hockey. comfy sofa seats for lounging around if you don't wanna race. Real gear for purchase shirts hats gloves. Not a cheap trip. Bring some spending money.
Best racing experience in the OC, Good customer service. Very cool experience. I was a little scared at first but after a few laps got the hang of it. You are very safe with seat belt helmet and the carts are very safe too. Great event for groups.
