Anaheim >Dream Cakes
You are WARNED!. There should be a negative rating on this site. I ordered a B-day cake for my daughter and it was a huge disappointment! It wasn't ready when promised, making us late to our own party. The cake fell apart before we got to the party and completely came tumbling down 40 minutes into the party. The worst part was that the owner was sarcastically rude and wouldn't refund us. The cake was not properly made and they knew it too. All they care about is getting paid, they don't believe in customer satisfaction!
looks great, tastes even better. Personally I am not a huge fan of cakes. I've had good ones, and I've had bad ones. I've sampled a lot too (due to my past life as a party and wedding coordinator). I must say, dream cakes has a flavor like no other. They will design whatever you like, which is nice. Its not all done in fondant, which is nice too. To be honest, a cute cake is nice. But the taste is what matters to me. Moist, light, and true flavor. I'm sorry to see that others did not have a positive experience. I cannot say the same. Great cake, beautifully made.
Very Poor Customer Relations. I have to agree with the previous review and wished I had read this prior to my order. The carved basketball I ordered was less the perfect. It was, for a lack of better word, squished at the bottom. Kinda of taking on the look of an egg rather than a basketball. The fondant doll was full of cracks nothing smooth as it should have been. The cupcakes were delivered with ORANGE frosting not the white frosting I requested on two occasions. I could have made these my self. I might have attempted to also make the basketball had I known it would like it did. Also, trying to talk to Yessina was a complete waste of time! While she did agree that she made a mistake in deciding on her own to change the frosting color she insisted that her carved cake was perfect as she spent several hours on it. In my opinion it could have used a few more hours to look good. She did state that everyone she showed a picture thought it looked wonderful, anything in a picture can look good maybe she should have let them see the real thing! Rather than trying to work with an unhappy customer she simply told me to get out of her store. Which I gladly did. Well I should mention she did offer to give me 50% off my next cake and I assured her I WOULD NEVER RETURN TO HER STORE. I would probably be just as unhappy with any product she turned out. I would give them no stars but you are forced to choose at least one and they most certainly did not earn that one!
Ordered a cake for a baby shower, picked it up on Friday evening, party was for 1 pm on Sat.
Took the cake out of the refrigerator on Sat. morning set it on the table, hadn't noticed that the word welcome was spelled welco, so sent an e-mail saying I needed for them to fix it before the party, walked past it an hour later and the whole top had fallen over on the table. I started calling and when they opened I was informed that once you take possesion it is your problem, and I could talk to the owner on Tuesday.
I was very angry, and not very nice either, but was being given the run around. My husband said he was taking the cake in for them to fix it.
They did call in a decorator and she replaced the top part with Styrofoam (she called and told me that would prevent it from happening again.
She did do a good job of repairing it, but it started seperating again before the cake was cut, and the top fell over again with the first cut.
Don't get me wrong, the cake tasted good, and before it fell, it was very cute.
However I e-mailed the owner and asked if there would be some kind of compensation for the grief that we had gone through (plus they kept the original top of the cake that they replaced with Styrofoam, so I didn't get the entire cake I paid for. I did apologize for getting so angry with the assistant
I was told that I would not be compensated for anything as they fixed the problem and I could take my insults as compensation.
I was also told that bad things happen to bad people.
At this point I answered the e-mail telling her that perhaps we best stop before it got really ugly.
Terrible to deal with. Hope it was a one time thing.
Would NEVER recommend that anyone deal with someone with such poor business practice.
A shame too, as I said the cake was cute, but not worth the price for the grief we got.
I was told I should have gone to Ralph's, what a way to run a business.
