33.745557 -117.836261 View WebsiteCONSUMER BEWARE!!!! This is an extremely corrupt and unprofessional business establishment. They post cars for sale on the internet that are not actually for sale just to get you down to their business. The prices are NOT accurate. THE EMPLOYEES ARE SCAM ARTIST. They attempted to sale me a car, accepted my offer, approved my credit and in the middle of asking me how many years I wanted to finance the car for another CROOK approaches me and tells me the car is sold to someone else even though we were the only people looking at the car. Do not waste your time, gas or money with these UNPROFESSIONAL CROOKS!!!!!!
DO NOT RECOMMEND: I would give this
scam operation no stars if it were an option. They flat out lie and then verbally abuse you if you do not buy a car from them. Their cars are seriously overpriced and their model seems to be bait and switch. You will not find any cars on their website actually on their lot.
Oh, and MAKE SURE YOU GET YOUR DRIVERS LICENSE BACK from the sales guy. I was so upset over the verbal abuse - plus I actually had to yank my hand out of his when I was trying to leave, he was holding on to it continuing to harangue me - I fled the office without getting my license. Despite the fact I was there for an hour and he never voluntarily gave it back to me - nor did they even attempt to call me all day while they still had it. I suspect this is one of their "sales" tactics. So I had to return to get it. They refused to mail it to me. STAY AWAY from them.
Who do these people think they are??!!. These people are RUDE, RUDE, RUDE!!!! The lady at the front desk was absolutely condescending and treated me like I was a moron. Really, who has a masters degree? Because I know you don't! Do not be fooled by these jokers. Even if the price says "Bidding price... 8900" and you show up with 9000 you will not get the car for 9000. Go somewhere else where you will be treated better. Give your money to someone who doesn't treat you like crap!
Horrible Experience.
Definetly check the BBB on Public motors for a more accurate complaint statistic, they are on alert for a large amount of complaints.
I drove to Public motors of Santa Ana to buy a car that was listed at 10,600.00 and I was gonna put 5000.00 down and they come back to me with the vehicle selling for 14000.00, unbelieveable.
So I leave out of there after repeatedly reminding the salesman that he has my license, and as I'm walking across the lot to go home he yells to me what about 11500.00....Pathetic. Not only that, they don't tell you that there is a 400.00 auction fee plus 5% of the total price of the vehicle you have to pay as well, lame.
Don't buy a car from these fools, the low price is bait.
I'm usually not one for writing reviews, but I'm just an average joe trying to buy a car to get around just as many of you probably are. Nobody wants to travel any amount of miles to purchase a vehicle at a particular price only to have it jacked up by thousands once you get there.
I shouldve read the reviews on this place first, wouldve saved me the trip.
Oh yeah and on a side note, all these positive reviews are very cookie cutter, some as you go a few pages back are the same word for word by supposedly completely different people.
And guess who just called me while I was writing this review, yep Public Motors. They want me to drive another 40 miles back down there so they can have another piss poor attempt at trying to hussle me into a car.
I will never bring any business to this company. Be careful cause in the BBB it lists other used car sellers they are affiliated with.
Questionable positive reviews.
Check out the LA Better Business Bureau website to see details of the 96 complaints received over 3 years - think I'll stay away.
Also, a quick check of the 10-12 most recent positive reviews show that they have reviewed many of the same places, even though they "live" in different areas. They each seem to see several dentists, and buy several cars and have only great things to say about everyone.
public motors oc. I just bought my Mercedes from Public Motors in Santa Ana. Greatest deal I found in OC. Great friendly staff. My wife and I felt really confident. The place is awesome. we love the car. I had it checked out this morning by a Fletcher Jones Mercedes Benz and the car is perfect. A+ thank you PUBLIC MOTORS.
Owner is a COWARD.
These people are LIARS! We drove from Big Bear for a car that they said WAS there I called 3xs before arriving. Each time they said yes the car "is here." I GET THERE AND THEY said it just sold, another sales person says "outside".. that it sold a week prior, but he could help! What..get the car back here?
1. They DO NOT have a CARFAX report. they show you a "fake" carfax. (the one on one of the cars was different than the one Alex printed.
2. They advertise 275 -300 cars on their web site, NOT EVEN close, try 58 cars on the lot WE COUNTED!
3. Cars smell like garbage, smoke and animals.
Cars are very nasty, two wouldn't start to test drive.
4. I asked about fees, was told two different answers, the real answer is that they have "auction" fees, the cars are over priced and they LIE about a live auction on Weds. night 7p( we got there at 630p-730p NO AUCTION)
We asked when does the auction start, one of the reps smiled and said "this is an auction, we are taking silent bids, what are you looking for?" WHAT AN INSULT, IM LOOKING FOR THE LIVE AUCTION YOU KEEP CALLING ME ABOUT!!
No one would get the owner, I was told he was standing there LOOKING AT US, when we walked toward him..HE WALKED AWAY FAST. A rep named BK walked up and apologized about the car not being there.
A buyer was there yelling for a refund, his car broke down and no one called him back for weeks..Whew, we MADE IT OUT of there. As we were leaving an ignorant poorly dressed, uneducated "ghetto" lady smoking outside says.."sorry baby, but we got more on the other side." WTH is she talking about! Horrible place, READ, READ, READ all reviews and save your gas, money and time!
They spend a lot of energy trying to con you from the first phone call, WARN EVERYONE! Oh, THE PRICE ON AUTO TRADER IS NOT THE SALE PRICE...IT's BAIT! RUN, RUN, RUN! THIS IS THE WORST PLACE and we will warn others!
All other positive reviews must be "fake" like them, Check Pissed dot com, Yelp dot com, BBB dot org they all have more truth about these trashy people!
Amazing customer service.. With this being my first car buying experience I have to admit i didn't know what to expect. Abel smoothed everything over. He was personable and knowledgeable. He was concise with details but met us on our level with our two little twin girls. Honestly? I'd buy from Abel anytime. Amazing customer service.
You're a sucker if you buy from these guys. Everyone gets scammed on occasion, and most people are aware that used car dealers are rarely honest. Be real. It's a business. So, it gives me great pleasure to NOT be as cunning and skillfully deceptive as OC Public Auction in Santa Ana. Yes, I am stupid. I am stupid for placing some faith in these guys, and, now,... I have no money to pay for the repairs necessary to get my ride back to the safety standards from when I originally signed the contract. These guys ripped me off for everything imaginable, including the windshield wipers. I brought my 2002 Ford Mustang in for them to readjust the steering wheel. They kept it overnight. They surreptitiously replaced the windshield wipers, put the wrong sized brake rotors (which are not covered under warranty), and replaced the engine. IT was a sports car, now it is merely a money pit. And I am a starving college student with no money and no job, and thus, ...I am in a bad situation, in an unsafe vehicle, with no means to remedy the situation. Why? Because I bought my car at OC Public Auction in Orange County. Thanks guys! They should be in jail, not business.
I'm happy I came here!. When I first walked in I did not expect to feel so comfortable. I'm very glad everyone was very honest and up front, I'm happy I came here!
