i miss this Mexican food. I recently moved away from Orange County to Alabama, and I have to say I can't get Mexican food like this where I am now! I miss El Matador! It was a great place for me to take my kids. Sometimes would get crowded, but we would go early and never a problem getting a table. Food was consistently good! When I get back to visit the OC, I'll for sure be visiting El Matador.

Bad food, overpriced and horrible service- definitely avoid. I had been here once before and it was ok, but nothing special. I stopped in again and this time it was horrible- the service was bad, the food was bad, and the quantities were poor. They charge $9.50 for a "Guacamole Salad" which is nothing more than a small bowl of iceberg lettuce with a scoop of guacamole on top, and the drinks were sub-par and small as well. I definitely will not be going back here again- there are an abundance of much better mexican restaurants in the OC.

Awesome Food and Great Service. You can never go wrong with El Matador for mexican food in Newport Beach. Occasionally, you have the wait for a table but they just opened a new bar area so grab a margarita and some chips to hold you over -- this place is definately worth the wait.

Great Food and great drinks. Best Mexican Food in Orange County, maybe the State! I had the Number 1. So much awesome, authentic Food. There was a taco, enchilada, tostada and tamale. It couldn't have been better. My husband had a carne asada burrito that was to die for. We each had a huge Margarita. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My new favorite Place!
