Beware of Tropic Shield!. stumbled on this thread and it brought back bad memories from years back.

I was one of the poor suckers who actually bought one of Larry's "dealerships" from some employee name Fritz.

As others have said, I walked in looking for a job when the bait and switch took place. I was young (this was in the late 80's) and didn't know much, so talked my parents into cosigning a bank loan ($3,000 if I remember correctly) and dove in head first.

Almost immediately I found out just how rude and unprofessional they were. One time I called to ask Larry AKA Tony AKA Lance a specific question about the application of the TSP product, but instead he screamed at me because while talking to me he missed a "real" call from a "real customer" (This was just one example)

Things went downhill from there, until I finally cut all ties with TS and went solo. I paid off that loan for years. To an 18 y/o $3,000 + interest was a lot!

Back then the Internet was not really around so I could not do the kind of research one can do now. Hopefully karma (and sites like this) will catch up to all of them.

A brutal scam. Recently, I applied for employment with Tropic Shield. Trying to find part-time work i was good at was the main idea. Unfortunately, the man who interviewed me thought I was trying to steal business. Apparently, the man lives a very negative life because he was expecting the worst from me. Maybe he was thinking along terms of what he would do? Not getting the job is O.K. however, the fact that the man told me I was a F....ing idiot three times and hung up on me says enough about Tropic Shield Teflon Polishing in Irvine, Ca. Stay Away from this company at all cost. They are horrible. horrible people, and deserve nothing from anybody.
