Tips for Merchant Services

I've been with Merchant Services Inc for 2.5 years now and I am counting the days until my 3 year contract is up. They LIVE for charging you extra fees, they change your contract in the middle (adding more fees after you are under their contract... with a $500 early termination fee). They charged me $50 to program a new terminal (because I purchased it on my own vs getting one from them), they didn't tell me when I signed up that they were only waiving the yearly $69 fee for the first year, they TOLD me when I signed up that there were no PCI compliance fees, but changed things partway to a $25 fee to Securitymetrics, and an additional $135 in 2011 for "PCI insurance", and now that I renewed with Securitymetrics (which is a BS online questionnaire) after getting autorenewal emails, they charge me $20 for being un-compliant and saying that they switched companies and don't use Securitymetrics anymore. AND they don't want to refund the non-compliant fee when I was fully compliant. This is a terrible company, I switched from using merchant services through my bank and NEVER had issues like this with the bank. If it wasn't for that $500 early termination fee, I would have been gone when they started that $135 insurance fee. They are not saving me ANY money with all these fees they tack on.

Chicagoland Metro area save money and get MS. The new Chicago area rep, Bill, made a cold call to my store and at first I told him I didn't have time. He was very polite and sincerely told me he was here to give me a fee audit to make sure I was getting the lowest price on my credit card processing. All he needed was my statement. He entered my info on a spread sheet and did a side-by-side comparison. Just like that he was able to save me over 10% on my bill, which came out to over $2,000 a year. The transition was easy, they did most of the work and guided me through anything I had to do. I get my money in my account the next day, which I never had before. I strongly recommend this company and the new rep they hired.

Processing time is much quicker and funds are in our account. Processing time is much quicker and funds are in our account the next day as opposed to 4 to 5 banking days with our previous service. On the day of the service transfer we had trouble downloading the new software that was required. To resolve problem the technician programmed a new terminal in his office and overnighted a new terminal and picked up our old one within 24 hours. The transition went smoothly and techincal support for the small changes we have requested were handled quickly and efficiently.

Thank you for the products. My rep is Panna, she did a "cold call" to my office and waited for me to return from lunch. I figured anyone who had waited an hour for me that i could give her at least a few min of my time. Within 20 min she had explained in a clear, detailed explanation of how her product was going to save my company money over the next few years. I was completely "sold" on the product and signed up right there. But the service didn't stop there. Over the next several months , and most recently the past month issues have come up and within a matter of minutes a response from Ms. Panna is obtained. I have recommended her product and services to other colleagues of mine and will continue to do so. I am just so glad she decided to open my door, and open her product to my business. I am very much glad with Merchant Services. My experience with Merchant Services has been good. When I changed over from my old company, it was pretty much a seamless transition. I was also transferring from using a machine that needed a hard-line telephone, to a machine that uses an ethernet connection. Everything went smoothly and continues to do so. John Rinn
