I just moved to Irvine and my boyfriend's birthday was just around the bend. Knowing that I was going to make the move to Irvine, I researched online for a nice restaurant near my apt. I browsed the website, looked at the pictures provided by them, and thought the place looked pretty nice and they play jazz (my man and I have in for jazz) so I made reservations for two for his birthday. The service at the door wasn't as great, but our server was good. The ambiance was relaxing with red-ish colors and funky but yet pleasant decor. We were able to sit together at a table with a sofa, so that was a plus. The food is decently priced (they have the menu on thier website) and although I wasn't too big on what I ordered (I believe it was something with beef), my boyfriend really liked his duck entree. Overall, it's a nice place to go on a date, a night out, but I wouldn't say it's a place to go to celebrate a special occasion.

Love this restaurant! The food and drinks are AMAZING. Highly recommend the short ribs with mashed potatoes...they melt in your mouth. Had the best oysters from Carlsbad here and can't wait to have them again. The Metropolitan cocktail is my favorite as of late...so good. Staff is always friendly and attentive. Took our 12 year old here for his birthday. The restaurant was hosting 570 KLAC and thanks to Phil Roberson the Director of Operations for French 75, we were able to meet Tommy Lasorda, Chris Pronger and a few other sports greats! Definitely recommend this restaurant.
Pros: Great food, drinks and service
Cons: cocktails a little pricey
