What pain? :).
Back in 2008, I began experiencing a dramatic increase in the number and intensity of my migraine headaches and a flare up of scar tissue in my arms from a string of surgeries I had as a young adult. I was nervous to see a Dr as I figured the neurologist would want to put me on daily, preventative medication and the orthopedist would want to either open me back up or prescribe pain meds. I was living my life in constant pain and I had no idea what to do.
At the urging of a close friend, I decided to give Dr. Halpern a shot. I had seen two different chiropractors before and felt like I was in more pain following my visits than I was when I went in. To say I was apprehensive was an understatement.. And I was pretty brutally open about it during my consultation. Dr Halpern went out of her way to talk to me openly about my concerns and explain what she felt was the best course of treatment. She made sure I was comfortable with every step of my visit, explaining everything she was about to do and then letting me know what I could expect after the visit.
I went on a regular weekly schedule for a couple of months until one day I realized that I couldn't remember the last time my arms had hurt and that the frequency of my migraines had substantially decreased.. and the best part was I was so busy actually enjoying life that it took me a bit to realize I was finally as pain free as I'd been prior to my injury.
I'm not the easiest patient.. Life has gotten busy and I don't go to to see Dr Halpern nearly as often as I should.. but in all fairness some of that's her fault. Her care allowed my body to be pain free and after years of cutting things short because I hurt too much, i'm now able to go and do.
If you're considering surgery or struggle with migraine headaches I highly suggest making an appointment and taking to Dr Halpern about treatment options.. You won't regret it!
