I recently read about Loopy Mango in New York Times and it sounded like a great place to visit on my next trip to NY and I go there quite often. I don't normally have time to go to Brooklyn, but I was so glad I did--I've never been to Dumbo before and the area is so cute. You get a great view of Manhattan skyline. Anyway, back to Loopy Mango. I picked up a couple of dresses and a cashmere sweater, everything fit perfectly and one of the dresses was by a new designer Mischen (I haven't heard that label before) and I absolutely loved it. I also fell in love with one of the mirrors there, but since I live in Chicago, it would be too expensive to ship it there, I wish I lived in New York! Also, there's a very cute children's store called Pomme around the corner from Loopy Mango--they have the most adorable children's clothes I've ever seen!
Pros: great selection of new designers, excellent prices
Cons: I wish I lived in NY!!!

It's been fun to see the store evolve from hand-made crochet and vintage to the epitome of style and fashion. Whenever I am in a mood for a nice dress, or a feminine blouse, or a unique accessory - I go to Loopy Mango. They have both casual and evening wear, and finding my size (M) is usually not a problem. People in DUMBO should feel lucky - it is a SOHO-level boutique at lower prices :)))
Pros: Emerging designers, Unique items, Frequent new features, Great atmosphere
