LOVE IT!. EMILY MOTT, she is an amazing stylist at Hue! I was greeted by the lovely staff, offered complementary tea or water, had a free scalp, neck and hand massage, amazing! Emily, listened to what I wanted and executed the cut perfectly! OH! And if you are first time customer at Hue, you get half off your service! I will be going back to Emily…in November!

Others say that this is a non-tipping salon, but I am not sure about that… I scoured their website and it said nothing of the sort, so I did tip her and I bought some product.

Will not go back. This sounded like a great salon. I purchased a groupon to try it out. I'm fairly easy going when it comes to my hair. I figure that this is what a hair dresser does for a living and should be able to help me figure out what looks good one me. I only go a few times a year to get my hair done, so this was going to be a treat.

I told the stylist that I'm the mother of a 2 year old and that we are out the door at 6am so I don't have a lot of time to spend on my hair. She had no imagination. Kept the current style which was fairly long and just added some long layers. I also got partial foils where you could see 1/4" of roots the next day.

Their policy is that if you go back to correct something, you get the same stylist which I didn't want. I didn't like her the first time, why would I want to go back. I went to my mom's stylist and have gotten so many compliments.

As part of the groupon deal, you were also supposed to get a bottle of shampoo (a $10 value). They said that they were out, but I could come back tomorrow. I live in Irvine. I'm not going to drive to HB for a bottle of Shampoo! They could have at least given me the $10 off something in the store. I might have tried their products.

If I have to have my hair done out here, I would go back to Donnia at Gregorie's Day Spa. The last time I had her do my hair, I LOVED IT. She put a lot of thought into what would look good on me and took into consideration that I don't do much maintenance on my hair.

ok but not the best. really want to give this salon 5 stars but I cannot. Let me preface my review by saying I have very coarse, natural, African-American kinky hair. When I called to make my appointment I asked for someone skilled with working with this hair type. I wanted a trim and a partial foil, all over color. I just got home from my appointment and am not sure how to feel about what I got. The color looks great but it is also all over my scalp and my hairline. The stylist cut my hair like you would a hedge which is sad since she told me herself she knew how to work with my hair type. She did not part it or anything just started hacking away. I had to tell her to stop because I am sure she planned to keep going. She did not take to much off but I have short strands in the middle of my head.

The salon is clean and nice and 1st time customers get a 50% discount. That being said even with the discount I paid $145 to have someone cut my hair like she was a gardener.

My rating is for all those that share my hair type. Stay away from this place because they do not know how to work with your hair. For everyone else they seemed to be doing a great job on all the ladies around me. Enjoy!!

Bad customer service!. Management needs to take a course in how to run a salon. I waited for ever, the stylist gave me attitude and the manager was a pain! Shame on you Salon Hue. I will never go back again! Not cool. I will make sure to tell all my friends.

I'm Picky, It Was Great!. I'm new to Orange County and my coworker gave me the name or her hair dresser. I'm very picky, sometimes too picky, so of course I was nervous. I looked their pricing up online, yes there are different pricing levels so I made sure to mention to the desk when I made the appointment which level I was most comfortable with. Their menu is very clear on pricing so people who are surprised by pricing must not look at the menu closely enough or don't ask about pricing prior to their service. The front desk staff was very welcoming without overdoing it, I hate when you can tell people are "faking" being nice. They were very warm and friendly, my kind of place. My stylist greeted me and gave me a very thourough consultation. Then one of their assistants gave me a GREAT scalp and shoulder massage and shampoo. I don't get why people on here are bothered by assistants doing things like shampooing and the massages. They are wonderful gals (not sure if there are guys there) who are there to learn help. When you go to a nicer salon, they have assistants and assistants do exactly that, assist. Anyhoo, got a great haircut in a nice amount of time ( I don't have all day to sit around). My stylist infomed me that Hue also had a spa and asked about my spa habits. I don't really have any, but I'd like to. She introduced me to Linda who invited me into the spa for a skin care consulatation for free. She talked to me in terms I understood and helped me understand my skin and it's needs better, and no, it wasn't to talk me into some foo foo product I don't need. I was so comfortable with her I decided to try a 30min facial and a brow wax. Both were great. My brows are amazing, that's a huge thing b/c believe me, my brows are usually a hot mess. I felt like $1,000, 000 leaving. When I checked out there was another gal up there who helped explain the charges for the day, the products that were used on me (not just your typical ok time to pay up conversation) and informed me of the client points system. Free points for pre-booking COOL! I had a nice time there and I WILL be back. Everyone there was welcoming and polite. I loved my stylist but I think I would be comfortable trying out different people. If you haven't gone to Hue, GO. Make your mind up for yourself.
