Best service ever!. We had a baby shower for my daughter Yvette at Modo Mio Restaurant Cucina on 11-6-10. The service was excellent, thank you Jewels, Ignacio, Juan and all the other waiters/waitress/cooks for the wonderful experience. The food was amazing, all of our guest enjoyed themselves they said it was the nicest baby shower they have ever been to and they loved the food. I am so thankful and will recommend Modo Mio to everyone. The location is also amazing you have a few of the ocean what more could you ask. Thank you Mr. Franco.

Incredible. I have to give this place two thumbs up and possibly all the thumbs up from the people I know. Its not hard to find restaurants with good service as well as good food. This restaurant goes beyond just the food and the service.

With personal experience I can say that the owner, John-Franco, looks after you as if you were family. When was the last time a restaurant stayed open, waiting for you because you were flying in from a different state to surprise your parents on their anniversary?

Yes, this one did. Hats off to John-Franco.

Straight From Italy. This excellent restaurant has been open 5 years and I just made my first visit. I guess everyone wants to keep it for themselves. My friend, a Newport Coast local, took me there for my birthday. What a treat.

The owner Gian Franco met us at the door and a great evening began. Our waitress, Sabrina ( first generation Norther Italian) was delightful. Very knowledgeable and quite helpful.

Then the food came. Great bread, my Insalada Di Gamberi was just wonderful and the main course was an evening special Risotto.

The wine list is great and the prices will suprise you (in a good way).

Wonderful experience all around!. Modo Mio Cucina Rustica in Crystal Cove (Newport Coast, CA) is a terrific restaurant -- from the service (our waitress, Kathy, was great), to the food (fresh and delicious), to the ambience (casual with a bit of chic). My husband and I will definitely return!

One of the Best italian Restaurants in the OC. One of the best places to eat in the OC is Modo Mio. When you arrive the maitre d' is VERY nice and provides you a very accurate estimate of when your table is ready (if you made reservations) or how long the wait till one is available. The restaurant is very comfortable and seats are not too close as to cause you to hear others conversations. The menu has a wide range of dishes - all of them amazing to say the least. You can taste the quality in the food - and there's plenty of it. The price is VERY good for what you are getting. Some places in the OC are big $$$ and you do not receive the quality and quantity of food they provide. The wait staff is very helpful and attentive - even when the restaurant is packed. During our meal the maitre d' came over to ensure the meal was good and made light conversation. That's excellent service in my book. Don't forget to order dessert. The warm apple tart is like fireworks in your mouth. When the bill arrives you'll be pleasantly surprised at the cost. For 2 people a three-course meal (appetizer, main course and dessert) with 2 sodas came to $50. That's a great deal and remember it is Crystal Cove. Dress is casual (jeans are okay) but dressing up is a good idea. Reservations are recommended for the weekends when they are very busy.
