Slow service....
We were huge Opah fans until tonight. The menu has changed from really nice to sort of nice. Service not as good as it use to be. They knew there was a problem so the Manager came to talk to us but did not give us the warm feeling that we were cared about. Food was marginal - not like it used to be.
Not a good experience and will definately take Opah off of our favorites list.
Fun, Contemporary, Outstanding. For those times when we feel like tasting excellent food but with a contemporary flair, Opah has been our favorite choice now for nearly a decade. Opah has a terrific selection of both sea and turf, but also specializes in the most delectable salads. It's a shame they closed the one in Rancho Santa Margarita, as this was our favorite because of the quiet atmosphere and fun with our friends in south county. Regardless, the Irvine site is right next door and they have one in Aliso Viejo as well. No matter which when you visit, you are guaranteed the very finest in contemporary cuisine.
Got food poisoning. Have been here before and always thought this was a nice place, but both my husband and I woke up sick in the wee hours of the morning following a dinner with friends at Opah. We guessed the culprit was the creme brulee.
Fun. Gets pretty crowned during the weekend for dinner. The food is good, but the chocolate bread pudding is fantastic. Fun place for Happy Hour too....
Good Martinis. They have some good martinis at this fine establisment. A little pricey but it is an expensive restaurant in the OC.
food not match price.
although the food is better than usual places in OC, the price did not match the food. The wait was extensive even on a Sunday lunch hour when it's practically empty.
the price was too much for what I was served. i had a seafood plate but too salty, had to take home and add some pasta to adjust. Although, the crab cakes were good.
I'm not returning too soon. Salty is not only untasty, it's unhealthy too. Please take the food before sending them out!
lost their touch. Just where do you have to go and how much money do you have to spend to get decent service? Not here, that's for sure. Sat & waited over 5 minutes for any attention after being seated while the many hostesses clucked away at the desk. Our server, Katy, gave us her best fake smile and her worst effort at service. Food wasn't that great. The ambiance is nice, but I wouldn't go back. Someone give me the name of a great restaurant with great food and attentive service in Orange County!
Everyone should try Opah At Least Once--Even if you don't LOVE it it's worth the experience!!!.
Californians have a creative love of seafood that differs from anywhere else in the world. On the east cost they find the best seafood and serve it with a side of butter and a bib--here we find the best and make it better with creative seasonings and sauces ranging from savory to fruity.
This creative "fusion" style of preparing seafood is perfected at Opah. Even the butter that comes with the bread is heavily (and deliciously) seasoned with herbs. Their lunch menu is reasonably priced and delicious, but dinner is worth every penny.
Be careful with the outdoor seating--if you end up in between the fountain and a chatty table you may not be able to hear the person sitting across from you. Other than that the ambiance is as awesome as the menu!
Good clams & hot bread. service was fast and friendly, food was excellent. I recommend the organic salad and the clams appitizer
Yuppy Atmosphere you'll pay for.. So I think this restaurant is really cool looking ... clean, modern, and artistic ... it is in the tustin marketplace but slightly hidden, which adds to it's ambience ... the specilaty drinks are fabulous but wayy overpriced ... your looking at a $10 martini or $7 beer ... the food is actually a bit basic but presented in a stunning manner and it is also expectedly overpriced ... the yuppy vibe in this place is overwhelming ... especially since it's right next to a brew restaurant where you can clearly see the different crowds of people ... a great date spot for older (richer) couples ....
