What People Are Saying About Dukes

In Short – Toast Duke Kahanamoku, granddaddy of surfing and patron saint of the establishment, with a rum-laced mai tai or a pineapple-crowned blue Hawaiian while enjoying Duke's teakwood, thatched-roof Hawaiian ambience. Laid-back locals and tourists share the view of the pier and the crashing waves. The menu is American-Hawaiian fusion heavy on seafood, with a tinge of Asian flavor. The Sunday brunch is popular and features classic egg dishes alongside huli huli chicken and kalua pork.
Food is over cooked

First we had to sit in the bar area with children (self seating). Then our drinks were watered down and we had to request that our drinks be replaced. Two people in out party ordered fish and it was over cooked and again we had to order something else. I would not recomend Duke's nor will I ever rerturn.
Great Location, OK Food
by iheartlife
Right on the beach and across from Main St., Duke's has a great location. It's always packed in the summer and usually busy throughout the year. I recently went there for a friend's birthday. They couldn't accommodate for a party our size (30 people) at one table so we had 4 separate tables. When we arrived, all the tables were reversed, 3 together and one on the other side of a wall. You couldn't even see the fourth table. At first we only sat at the 3 tables that were together, a couple people were running late, so they gave the last table away and the manager said that he would give us another table in a few minutes. After the rest of the party arrived, we asked if we could have the tables adjacent to out 3 tables and his response was "do whatever you want" and he walked away. I understand that we weren't the easiest group to deal with, but I didn't expect that response from a manager. The food was ok, but overpriced. The mai tais are good, but I think you are really paying for the view, which was great. They have there own parking lot Valet or $1.50/hour at the machine.

Below Average

I was very dissapointed by Dukes. The food is OK. The service was bad. The portion are too small. The drinks are too weak. I do not recommed Dukes for people who like to eat a lot.
