Not worth the money - Bad service.
I was recently there for their brunch ($79 per person) and foolishly expected the best. I guess you can't judge a book by its cover. The food is good, but nothing you haven't had before. To start off, the waiter did not even acknowledged us once the hostess showed us to our table. We constantly had to flag him down for water, OJ and champagne refills. The food layout was such that people bumped into each other at every turn. The dessert area was at the other end of the room, which can be easily missed. The band that was playing that day was crowded by the hotel guests, who were making their way to the pool (again poor layout and organization).. Although they asked us what we were celebrating (Valentine's Day), they sat a large group with small kids right next to us. I have a child myself, so I can't fault the kids (they were not older than 2 yrs.), but they were running around, crying and being kids. So much for a romantic outing. Again, poor judgement on their part.
To top it all off, we had to wait 20 minutes for the valet to bring our car (they must have lost the ticket and were afraid to say anything). There was no attempt to apologize. We were rudely told that they were busy.
What ever happend to good service, especially in places where they charge high prices?
I am a local and I have been to many restaurants and hotels around the world, so trust me when I encourage you to spend your money some place else. By the way, Ritz Carlton is a block away from St. Regis - you'll find better service there.
Editorial Review. Reminiscent of a European style cafe, this eclectic eatery overlooks the Pacific Ocean.
BEST BRUNCH IN OC. The biggest, most elegant, most dilectable brunch you can go to. With a beautiful view overlooking the golf course, fountains, and the Pacific it's ambience can't be beat. I've been to them all over the years and this blows the Ritz's Carlton's across the street out of the water. I only go there when Motif is sold out and I didn't make reservations. Also it's a little dressier then your average brunch place.
