Great food, value, and patio. This is probably the best "Mexican" food I have had in Orange County. High on vegetables and flavour, low on grease and cheese.

Great food for a fair price. Ate there for the first time tonight based on recommendations below. The price is about 10-15% more than Rubio's or Wahoo's, but the quality of the food is about 40-50% better. Real avocados, when was the last time you saw that in a quasi fast-food mexican joint? About as authentic of mexican food as you can get in south Orange County, compares head-to-head with Taco Mesa. It's just too bad they only have one location.

Get off the 73!. Saltwater Grill is a diamond in the rough! In the midst of strip malls and all that we dread about the suburbs, this little restaurant is a gem. I wouldn't even classify it as "Mexican" fare. The menu includes creative and unique recipes based on our beloved favorites such as tamales and tacos, but this is DEFINITELY not your La Salsa or Rubios! The ambiance is fresh and inviting, and as a diner, you feel like you're really valued, as food is delivered and served piping hot and with care, as you enjoy the hip, fun, lunch atmosphere, or the cozy, yet bustling dinner. You'll love the fun, vintage touches mixed with the modern, clean decor! Definitely worth getting off the 73!

Saltwater scores. My dining experience at Saltwater Mexican Grill was great. The food was awesome, a few notched above your basic mexican food, sort of like mexican food grows up. The decor doesn't fall into the average mexican restaurant either, but hey, this isn't your "typical" mexican restaurant. The guy taking my order was covered in tatoos, but very nice & accomodating. Sort of adds to the whole experience. The prices are slightly higher, but I feel the value is there. Overall, a great experience. I would return again.

Confusing experience. The food is terrific, the place and ambience is just awful, and the prices are way to high for Mexican fare. I really have no recomendation. The food was good enough to recomend it, but the prices were too high to not recomend it.
