The meat Selections alone are hugh in choice and size and dry aged, which is superior to any kind of claims of wet aging by other restaurants serving Steaks or meats of any kind. It is a superior Steak house, with old fashioned Steak house appearance, along with having incredible appetizer and desserts selections as well. Their Lobster Bisque is a must.
One can never get tired of this menu, nor find something to experience at every visit.
It is a credit to its owner to see that peoples sight, imagination, and taste all work together to make a satisfied eater To do this, Menu multi food selection, food size and food quality, Food presentation, along with high class waiters and atmosphere work to gether to make this restaurant so good.
It rates in our opinon as a 29 out of 30 in food , 27 out of 30 in decor , 26 out of 30 in Service.

?From the moment we walk into the Costa Mesa Restaurant you are greeted warmly, almost instantly feeling a connection that you are in a special place. Escorted to our table my husband and I found the ambience delightful and unpretentious. The decor was rich, fine classical linens adorned the tables, a warm glow lit the room. With pictures of an era gone by hanging on the wall the familiar scenes took me back to my childhood. I felt like I was at home? in New Zealand. This was the beginning of a wonderful evening. My husband and I perused the menu for quite some time not sure what our palettes were craving.
We began with an organic Caesar Salad. The dressing was creamy and rich with fresh garlic and grated parmesan cheese. It was superb ? every morsel. For the Entree - my husband ordered Turner Lamb Chops and I ordered Orange Roughy both with mashed potatoes? What can I say except the entree was divine. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. Every morsel tasted incredible. It sent by taste-buds into shock - the taste of real food without additives? It was so amazing.
What better way to end out meal that to have a handsome portion of full, rich, creamy ice cream all the way from my homeland. Its not that I am biased but New Zealand Ice cream is the very best in the world and to find a place that serves the best is another plus. It was a beautiful accompaniment to a wonderful dining experience and that is by no means biased or exaggerated. I give Turners 10 out of 10. Again this is real food and I highly recommend it on any day at any time for any occasion. By the way my husband was equally impressed by our dining experience as he hasn?t eaten New Zealand cuisine before? ?

For the perfect matching of Food, Service & Ambience - Head to Turners! – Noel Tuner and his staff have outdone themselves ? again! I recently returned to Turner New Zealand to sample more of the delectable delights on offer. If you are looking for a memorable dining experience, Turner New Zealand will not disappoint. After starting with the Calamari Sautee (amazing) we had the incredible Turner Mussel Fry. The Mussels were prepared perfectly in a light breading and served with an Aioli dip not often found in the US. Only one thing to say ? Mmmm. Being a perfect host, the owner Noel Turner then offered up THE BEST King Salmon Sushi I have ever had. Following all these wonderful Seafood treats, I was served a perfectly cooked (rare) Turner Venison Steak. Honestly, don?t destroy it by ordering it overcooked. The flavor of this meat is truly amazing. The pairing of vegetables and sauces was impeccable. Turner?s commitment to Freshness and quality is amazing. New Zealand Meat and Seafood is the BEST in the world, and Turner?s prepares and serves it in just the right way. Just make sure you save room for some of the desserts! Noel?s Mum?s Pavlova is my favorite! The wine list is extensive (ask for recommendations) and service is second to none. The whole dining experience is one of the best adventures you will ever take. The entire staff makes you feel like you are THE most important person in the entire restaurant ? a long lost friend even. And if Noel Turner himself is there (and he often is), chances are you?ll meet a man that is so passionate about food you?ll walk away with a new understanding on what it is that makes Turner New Zealand Meat & Seafood so special. Special thanks to John & Matt ? you guys rock! Top Notch! Keep up the GREAT work! I?ll be back again ? and again, and again! Best Lobster. Average Steak – By far the best lobster I've ever tasted. The service was fantastic. Unfortunately the steak was just OK. Why? I ordered the steak and lobster for $59 which is a great price. Great lobster tail can cost as much as $100 and the quality of this lobster tail exceeded that which one would pay much more for. I later did my research and found that the lamb here is to die for and I may come back for that. So I give the lobster tail 10 but the steak a 7 and this I feel is generous because the quality was equal to a place around the corner from which charges 50% less for the same cut of steak. Unfortunately the steak was cooked too fast. In fact after making the order the steak came back in under 12 minutes meaning the meat was only cooked for 7 minutes. Had the steak been cooked for 15-20 minutes the steak would have been more tender and tasty. Good steak requires slow cooking. The longer the better. In fact I've spent as long as 30 minutes cooking a medium well done filet mignon steak. The taste is total bliss. The service was great and I thought my waiter was fantastic and the hostess was great. Unfortunately steak was not as tender as it should have been. Even if your meat comes from corn fed cows, you have to cook it slowly or you take out the juices and end up with tough and not so tender steak. This did not ruin my dining experience because the rosemary potatoes were great and the ice cream was heavenly. Of course the lobster all by itself made the whole dining experience wonderful and memorable.
Just fabulous all round! – My husband & I were visiting California from the UK and having just visited the nearby mall for some retail therapy for me, we were looking for a local restaurant for dinner. Driving by Turner New Zealand, we were immediately taken with the appearance within - candle-lit tables, sparkling decor and romantic setting, so ventured inside. The welcome was immediate and warm (but no overbearing) and instantly we picked up on the seamless dynamic that existed between John the manager and his fabulous team. Without the commonly found Hollywood "I'm an actor waiting to be discovered" style service, these people know their stuff, and how to sell it in with delight... which is premium, high quality, organic produce, originating from New Zealand. The Caeser salad was truly the BEST we have experienced anywhere on the planet, followed by melt-in-the-mouth filet steak and lamb chops, sadly no room therefore for the stunning desserts. Imagine our pleasure when the owner himself, Noel Turner came over to our table, introduced himself and recommended his personal favourite wine (not the most expensive either!). What a charming man and SO passionate about quality and the whole dining experience. Whether our photo will be added to all the celebrities on the wall of fame, remains to be seen! However, from arrival through dining to departure, the whole experience was a total delight and we can't recommend it highly enough. It's probably a good thing for the budget and waistline we are not locals, otherwise it might become a habit too hard to resist!
First Class Cuisine & Stellar Service with a Friendly Kiwi Touch! – I've spent some serious time dining my way around the "Big Apple" as a hospitality public relations professional. This experience brings with it a discerning palate and keen eye for top notch service. In comparison to New York City, I thought the Orange County dining scene had little to offer and much to learn...until I experienced Turner New Zealand! After enjoying two exceptional dining experiences (one lunch and one dinner) I felt compelled to report on this Kiwi gem. To begin with, the service is polished and professional yet warm and accessible. My date and I received an honest and comprehensive education about the wines we were considering. The Robert Stemmler- Russian River Pinot Noir -2003 that came recommended from the manager, was the perfect match for the delights that followed! Don't miss the mussels infused with lemongrass as a starter- a flavorful Thai twist highlighting the exceptional quality of mussels that Turner New Zealand is known for (check out their website to order some of your own). The incredibly tender venison steak (quite honeslty the best either of us had ever tasted) came framed with a memorable medley of cippolini onions and mushrooms- all simply prepared to perfection! Every aspect of our evening was complimented with attentive service. Noel Turner and his knowledgable staff have really put New Zealand cuisine on the map!
Turner New Zealand is deliciously complex! Take time to explore this great restaurant! – I have been dining at Noel Turner's restaurant for seven years, but recently I discovered not only how magnificent is its food, but how complex its cuisine really is. The first several times at the restaurant, it may seem to be a little plain: just a New Zealand restaurant with, arguably, the best lamb, beef, salmon, venison, and, oh yes, mussels availabe anywhere. The tenderness, flavor, and freshness of these meats are the best I have ever tasted. But recently, I have begun exploring the subtleties and the depth of their menu and available wines. The mussels in lemon grass broth appetizer cannot be described - you have to try it, especially with a glass of Nautilus Sovignon Blanc, chilled to perfection by the knowledgeable wine stewards. Then taste the savory lobster bisque, paired with the Spanish Cream Sherry that they recommend with this dish. This is an example of wine pairing at its finest! Occasionally we just have two appetizers and share them as our entrees, which allows us to concentrate on their desserts! You must have the pavlova at least once. It is a light dessert with wounderful baked meringue, silky smooth whipping cream and an abundance of delicious, fresh berries. I am definitely a Turner New Zealnd enthusiast. And now, after exploring their fare, I am confident that it will always succeed to satisfy, no matter whether it is a business lunch, a casual night out, or a special occasion. Enjoy!
Turner's Chocoate Souffle is an Absolute Must – I've visited Turners at least 8 times.
This place may not be what you expect. They use VERY light seasoning for their food, so if you expect something really done up, you'll be at a lost. This is not a french place. It is a place that emphasis is on the New Zeland beef/meet.
That said, the meat is amazing. The mussels are very very good and the chocolate souffle is an absolute must. I live across the street and go in for chocolate souffle alone.. its seriously the best souffle I've ever had in my life. The price is less than Ruth Crisps or Mortons, and although the portions aren't as large, the food is about good. Mastros accross the stree is a bit more expensive and "better" all around, (better than Morton's and Ruths, in my opinion) however, its simply a different experience. If you want Lamb/Mussles and enjoy the actually pure taste of the food, its a great experience...but, if you do go to Mastros, go get the chocolate souffle at Turner's..
Just Fantabulous – We always loved Turner New Zealand- the service, the food and the ambience has been superb! However TNZ took their food and service to the next level for my 25th Birthday Celebration! The managers and waiters were very accomodating and went beyond our expectations. The private room was absolutely beautiful and everyone was ooooing and awwing throughout the evening. 26/30 of our guests agreed that it was a geat restaurant, (the other four were between the ages of 4-7.) We highly recommend TNZ for a romantic evening or a special occasion.
