Amazing ocean views.
My husband and I dined here at the Terrace Cafe one Sat. night with another couple. We were looking for somewhere to watch the sunset and grab an appetizer. We all enjoyed the views so much, we felt like we were on vacation in Hawaii. The appetizers were good, like the clam chowder. It's overpriced, but growing up in a beach city I knew it would be. It's around 15 bucks for a hamburger, but the views make it all worth the price of the food. I read the other reviews about the wait staff and was surprised since our server was awesome and so attentive to us. We will go back here for sure!

NEW MENU = EVEN BIGGER PRICES!!!!.
My sweet husband and I were there for the Grand Opening of the NEW MENU, which translates to MORE EXPENSIVE MENU FOR LESS CHOICES and LOUSY SERVICE and vapid waitresses.
When we arrived at the Terrace, the host told us that the serving staff was in a meeting to discuss the new menu and he offered us some hot coffee and some iced water, which we graciously accepted as we settled in to wait.
A half hour later, a waitress came by and gave the lady who was just seated a menu, but didn't even offer us anything!!!
I was most indignant and asked her, "May we have a menu too?"
She acted like she was shocked or something......and said, "Oh...I thought you were just here for the coffee!"
I tried to hide my disdain of what must be an all-time low IQ for a waitress.
She did bring some menus over and then we were treated in a more dignified fashion.
I got the Chinese Chicken Salad for some major $$$, ( I think it was around 20 dollars), and my hubby got a sixteen dollar turkey club sandwich; both were heavenly and divine, but what was really incredible is that there was an entire school of wonderful dolphins that swam close to the shoreline. We had the best beachside table with scattered shade and sun, as we watched their entire pod swim for about an hour and a half! There were some human swimmers out there who chased the dolphins by swimming strong, way out past the boyees to the rocks, but they could never catch up with those dolphins of the sea.
I guess I would recommend the Terrace Cafe to all persons visiting Laguna Beach, but only if you are full of patience and willing to settle for a limited menu.
It's still great to be sitting there though................I would recommend the place only for special occasions.

Slow service, terrible food.
We had five different people come to our table, so we were utterly confused as to who our server actually was. Never got our appetizers, had to wait extra long for drinks. Gave our drink re-order three times to three different people, and still didn't get anything. Food came to our table bland and cold. Don't eat here, total waste of an evening.

Editorial Review.
Hotel Laguna's oceanfront patio restaurant serves American-, Asian- and Italian-style salads, sandwiches and entrees. Also, specialty cocktails, wine and beer.
