Tips for American Vision Windows

November 14, 2012

My father called AVW in Orange after hearing radio commercials, and reading positive reviews. The salesman showed up on time and was professional and he was impressed enough to sign a contract for replacement of 14 windows, the date 8/2/12.

A week later Gilbert showed up to measure the windows, one of the windows has a unique arch to it. He asked Gilbert if he was going to make a template. He said no he just needed to measure it. Having remodeled several houses himself he was perplexed as to how he would be able to match the arch just by measuring. Four days later my father got a call from Gilbert wanting to know if he can come by and measure my arched window again and he said no because he had plans to leave for the day. Then, as he was getting ready to leave he saw Gilbert out in front of the house, and he says he thinks he should make a template of the window, and my father agrees telling him if the window is not made to fit the house exactly then he won't be satisfied and will not pay until he is happy with the installation. Gilbert says he has to leave to get the materials he needs to make a template, and my father tells him he must leave but is fine with him coming back and completing his work.

Three days later we get a call from AVW saying they would like to know if Gilbert can come back out to make a template of the window. Are you kidding me?! So Gilbert comes out for the third time to do his job and assures us that he now has everything he needs to have the windows built correctly. AVW calls my father to say the windows are ready and to schedule installation. A few days later 10/13/12 the crew shows up to install the windows. After unloading the windows the person in charge tells my father that the arched window did not match the template they sent the manufacturer and would have to be remade, and installed later. After some further measuring of the front room window, the installers discovered that Gilbert had measured 46 3/4" x 48 1/4" when the window measurements were actually 46 7/8" x 64 1/2" and this window too would have to be remade and installed later. Again, this is very frustrating.

More than a week goes by and my father gets a call from AVW, they say that the template they made of the arched window and gave to the manufacturer had been lost and they needed to reschedule once again for someone to come out and make a new template. This will be the FOURTH time someone had to come to the house to measure the windows. My father was really upset by this and was quickly transferred to someone else who after reviewing the file agreed that this was a total nightmare and assured us that he was going to send his best man out this time and the template would immediately be hand delivered to the manufacturer the next day to expedite the order.

On 11/5/12 still no one from AVW had called with an update as to when the windows will be made or installed. My father called AVW to talk to the supervisor who assured him he would personally hand deliver the template to the manufacturer. He then told him, after checking the file that the template was MAILED on 10/24/12 and can't say anything on the status of the order until maybe tomorrow - which was over a week ago. I could not be more frustrated! This started 8/2/12 with no end in sight! The date is now 11/ 14/12 still no one has called. Such a disappointing experience, I would not recommend using this company.

Our condominium association is in the process of changing out our old windows. American Vision assisted us in deciding on the right specification for our new windows. My windows were installed last week and the job was completed efficently. The installers did a great job and the new windows operate beautifully.

American Vision Windows has proved to be the best window company in the Orange County area. I really believe in writing reviews when I hire a company and I am happy to say that American Vision Windows gets 5 stars in my book! The crew arrived promptly, was very efficient and friendly and got the job done. I can't forget about the prices too, very reasonable. I am loving the way my house looks and will definitely be referring American Vision Windows to all of my friends.

My wife and I had American Vision do our, windows (Anlan), text coat, and four sliding doors (Anlan). In all three situations the price was right and the service was top shelf. Every employee treated us with respect, and their professionalism was above all other companies we have ever used. In fact we were sad to hear that they no longer do kitchens -- as we are in the market for an upgrade there. We are seriously looking into American Vision Solar as we just finished a new roof and we are now looking toward solar for the house and the pool. I am a firm believer in using a company that treats their customer with respect and their work/product is of the highest quality.

I tell the people i love the most to go to American Vision for all their home needs. If you are reading this go to the Orange County office if you want a great price, quality service and high end material!

Quality 3 / 3 In 2011 my wife and started looking for replacement windows, We called and had couple of companies come out and give estimates. We ended up with American Vision Windows. The company has a great track record for customer service and the products that they sell. The job was installed with great attention to detail. After the window project we had American Vision Windows install a beautiful front door.

We went through a major remodel of our home 3 years ago and selected AVW as our window replacement company after talking with other companies and were very satisfied with the installation and quality of their product. Recently we had to replace a patio screen that was damaged after someone walked into it. I wasn't sure what their replacement policy was, but I called AVW and spoke with Michelle in customer service. She was very pleasant and answered my questions and slotted us in at the first available date. Jesse (who originally installed all of our new windows and patio doors) arrived earlier than our scheduled appointment (BONUS!) and quickly replaced the screen. My husband asked if Jesse could make a couple of other adjustments with some other window areas and he happily obliged. Both Michelle and Jesse were great and we are very happy to know that we can count on AVW's product and great customer service.

Great Company! Great Product! Great Service!. We give American Vision Windows 5 stars because our experience with them has been an exceptional one. Their quote was not the cheapest and not the most expensive. We looked at other window companies and decided to go with American Vision because of their promise of quality and their customer service. Sometimes you actually do get what you pay for.

We had American Vision Windows install 22 new windows throughout our house. We could not believe that they stuck to their word and did the entire job in just one day! We have had a lot of work done on our home over the years and never have workman finish the when they said they would. A crew of 9 men appeared on installation day and they worked as an amazingly organized team. Both their knowledge and quality of workmanship was impressive. I also want to acknowledge that the crew had impeccable manners and worked with kindness and compassion.

What we witnessed was a clean, professional, and very efficient operation.

At the time we also ordered Hunter Douglas window shades for all our new windows. Just recently we had to call American Vision Windows for a repair to be made on one of the shades. Tracy B. could not have been more helpful. You totally get that her mission is to 'please' the customer. the The repairman she sent, Norm R., was suppose to dismantle the shade and have it sent back to Hunter Douglas to be repaired and put up a paper temporary shade in its place. Tracy said the repair would be 2 or 3 weeks and then Norm will come back out to reinstall the repaired shade. Upon the removal of the shade Norm said, no promises, but if I wanted him to make an attempt at it he might be able to do the repair himself. He worked on the shade for over an hour and SUCCESS. He repaired it and we did not have to wait the several weeks! I then thought of showing him the plastic tabs that Hunter Douglas ties to the end of their pull cords that have cracked or completely broken off and asked if I could do anything about it. He said, "No problem, I can take care of that for you". We are so happy and impressed with American Vision Windows' product and the service. We are in gratitude that a company such as this exists!

Thank You, Jody & Stephen K., Studio City, CA

BEST VINYL WINDOWS. I shopped around with a total of 5 companies for estimates to replace a total of 11 windows. i decided to go with American Vision Windows, because I felt comfortable after I met with their salesman. The price was reasonable plus I got some free upgrades. The whole process was smooth from the moment I signed the contract till the day the windows were installed.

The windows were to be ready within 4-6 weeks but were ready much sooner. On the day of the installation, the technicians arrived on time and walked me thru the job, explaining what they were going to do and how long it would take. The job was completed on time, they were very professional and cleaned up the job site.

I am very happy with the whole process and the look of the windows, The Anlin windows are great. Yes, I would recommend American Vision Windows to my family and friends. Thanks for the great experience.

I'm glad they made me pay more.... I know it sounds weird, especially when you'd think a window is a window is a window, right? I mean, what's the difference?? They all look the same, smell the same, feel the same...so the only difference would be price...right? Well, that's not exactly true... Almost 8 years ago when our first son was just over a year old, we had 2 double windows in our house that needed to be replaced. The previous owners had installed vinyl windows in all the rooms except the master bedroom and our front bedroom. We called American Vison Windows in Orange and asked them for a quote. I had heard them on the radio station I was working at the time so I figured they'd save me a buck or two. Their quote was higher than I expected and definitely higher than other window advertisers I had also heard on the radio so I was thinking about not going with them.

In the end we decided to buy from Am. Vision because we liked their business motto. I din't care for the sales rep that much but we liked what they were about as a company.

Today, 8 years later, those windows are still keeping the unwanted noise out, the cool air, and, or heat, in and looking like they're brand new. So many other companies that we considered buying from at the time are no longer in business so who knows what we would have ended up with. I just know that I'm glad American Vision made us pay them more for the RIGHT product back then because there's no way 3 kids and a new business launch later I could afford new windows now.

Way to go American Vision.
