Excellent Municipal Course. My wife and I have played this course over the years one or two days out of every visit from New Jersey to the West Coast (two or three times per year). We also play the "expensive" courses like Pelican Bay, LaCosta, Desert Springs Marriott Resort. We are continually impressed by the beauty of the course (especially the elevation changes) as well as the delightful staff (including the rangers), well-provisioned golf shop, charming restaurant (indoor and patio) and bar. Admittedly, the greens have been a little moth-eaten on occasion --- but for a reasonably priced municipal golf course, this place is a real find.
Bad Experience. My son took his uncle and aunt there for a golf game on Saturday and was truly embarassed about the terrible shape this course was in. He said the course was practically deserted, and now he knows why. The only thing his polite uncle said was "Wow, what a view."
Good Experience. Overall a great addition to OC golf - a fun course that is well designed and well maintained. Staff seem to genuinely enjoy the game and treat people well - I wish it were a little closer, but will go out of my way to play here. One of the best local courses - and reasonably priced by OC standards.
