Do Not Consign Here!.
We took several items here for consignment and couldn't be sorrier. When we called to inquire about the status, the accounting was never availalable, the owner was always "unavailable" and she never returned our phone calls (actually, NO ONE returned our phone calls). Whenever we called, the staff was rude and dismissive. The record-keeping was almost non-existent and virtually impossible to get. I am confident that they under-reported how much they sold the items for.
I believe they are extraordinarily dishonest and would advise anyone looking to consign their furniture to go elsewhere. Please do not make the same mistake we did.
Not honest and inefficient. My husband and I took several quality items to Lido and we were deeply disappointed for several reasons. Completely unorganized. Rude. Dishonest . When we called to pick up an item since it hadn't sold, we were told they couldn't find it when we arrived at the store. Then they told us it sold an hour earlier. It took 90 days for us to receive a check for $50.00 for a piece that was originally priced at $250.00. I don't have proof, but I believe Lido issues a check without selling the item, then tries to sell it at a higher price. When I called about an item, I was told in a very rude tone that they can't check on specific items, which I can understand, because they are on the floor helping customers. They are never helping customers, I have been in the store several times and have never had an employee ask me if I needed help. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CONSIGNMENT ITEMS HERE. It may be a place to find a bargain, but I will never use them again.
HAPPY CONSIGNER. Consigned our beautiful dining room set and elegant living room furniture when we down sized from 5,000 sq. feet to 2500(empty nesters)with Lido Consignment...we had excellent results....Otto told me he'd price 20% over our agreed price and guess what it sold for?20% more than i thought it would....and yes I was amazed...got a great check and now we are looking for smaller pieces for our new home. My wife and I think Lido is the best...
REAL CONSIGNMENT,Great Expierence, Thanks Sue :). I had just recently downsize form a 3500sq. ft. Home to a 1200sq. ft. apartment. I put quite a bit of furniture on Consignment over the last 6 months and i gotta tell you it's great that i recieved new found money for the items i have already enjoyed. Carrie was a joy to deal with. I still go back just to browse even tho i can fit anymore in my small place...lol
Best Consignment Store EVER!!!!!!!. Lido consignment has been nothing but a a dream come true for me. When i used to have garage sales i would only get laughable offers on my furniture. They have made me a very happy Camper.. They sold quite a bit for me after I lost my home, and for that i am very grateful. Susan Landon and her manager Otto know the biz better than most. I highly recommend this consignment store to anybody buying, or consigning.
not honest. I don't think they are very honest. My dad passed away 2 years ago and we took a truck load of stuff to them. We didn't know that they are supposed to tell you approx. how much they will try to get for your items. There were no records kept. They just gave us a handwritten receipt of the things we left. 6 months later, I came back into town and called them. They acted like they didn't know what I was talking about. Luckily I still had the list of what I gave them. This guy kept telling me to call back later. When I called back, they said "oh yeah, well, we will send you about $150.00." I have a sick feeling that they made a fortune without letting us know what we could get.
Lido Consignment.
We brought a number of items to the store to sell at a mutually agreed to price written on the contract we signed. Some contracted prices were increased when they placed the items on the floor. Verified by a visit to the store which made you question what percentage they planned to pay if items sold at higher price than contracted. Items that were sold went unpaid and items that were still on the floor got paid. We eventually worked it out.
When we went to pickup some of the things that had not been paid for they agreed to pay for them since they could not locate the items. Who really knows what price the item sold for or how long ago it had sold.
It appears that all ther recordkeeping/inventory is not computerized or at least it didn't appear so when we had items at the shop. All checks and documents were hand written.
Although they have nice things and a number of my items sold, it was not a very pleasant experience.
best consignment store I have ever been in..... I am a consignment store junkie, I hit all the stores in Orange, San Diego, Palm Desert, etc. etc. I have found Lido Consignment to be the best. I have consigned as well as bought many many items. Always thrilled with the prices they get for my stuff and the prices I pay for the treasures I find. The staff is great and Sue Landon the owner is a real pro.
