Delicious and good service. This is my first review, so I'm not sure what I need to write, but I really enjoyed Wasa Sushi. the food was delicious and the service was great.

I recently lost alot of weight and have been trying to keep it off by eating healthier. I've come to eat more fish over the past six months. It's really helped.

Best Sushi Anywhere!!!!!!!!!. I love Wasa Sushi!!!!!!! Every time that I've eaten here has been a perfect experience. The fish is always the freshest and the service is great- even when I bring my toddler they are so sweet to her and patient with her Edamame mess. The Toro with garlic ponzu is my favorite and the Yellowtail was the best I've ever had. I'm going back on Monday for lunch and I'm thrilled!!!!!!!

Very bad service, very good fish. I have dined at Wasa in Irvine and had takeout at least 20 times. The service is very inconsistent with the best being average and the worst being terrible enough to vow never to come back. Alas, I always return and subject myself to the lack luster service for the above average sushi. The fish is fresh and the rolls are inventive and tasty. If I could find better tasting sushi in Irvine, I'd ditch Wasa for good. Their location in Newport seems to be a touch better for service but they do not offer the sushi dinner, only a-la-carte.

Bad customer service.. I was very happy w/the food, however, the service was horrible..I was taking a business associate out for dinner and waited so long for service & then our food. I bragged to my associate that this placed had the best food. The employees started cleaning the restaurant while we were being served our sushi (cleaning floors w/cleaning solution w/5 talbes of customers still eating) . The girl that was serving our table was more interested in flirting w/another employee then customers. I tried to contact the manager and even checked for the owner by first name (as personal friends of mine are friends of his) and Ileft 3 messages and was never called back. I spent around $65.00 on two people. I have not been back since my visit on 06-13-06.

It is with great regret that we haven't been given the opportunity to serve you again since your last visit with us over a year ago. However, we appreciate your thoughtful gesture by reminding us through your belated review that growth and development is an ongoing process and that there is always room for improvement. As you may or may not already know, we have recently been refining our standards of service as well as the restaurant's decor and soon we will be updating our menu. It is a process that will take time but we are resolute in our desire to improve our services. Amidst these recent changes we hope that you find a renewed reason to visit us again. As the company's Director of Development I invite you to contact me directly in order to further discuss your thoughts on how we can better serve you and all of our guests both now and in the years to come.

With sincere gratitude,

solid sushi spot. i just ate here last night and i had the one of the best salmon skin salads i've ever had. i know a lot of people don't like salmon skin but this place did it really well... we also had the soft shell crab and it came with these crunchy parsley leaves that were really good. i had a spicy scallop handroll with crunchy flakes but i thought it was a little too spicy for my taste but i guess that's a matter of taste. the server recommended some sushi off their special menu and whatever it was i really loved it, especially the seared salmon one... anyways, this has been a highlight for me this week after a host of terrible Japanese restaurants. the service wasn't 4 star but the young man who served us was friendly and my iced tea was always kept full... i'll definitely be back again.

As you may or may not already know, we are in the process of revamping our internal systems both "front of the house" and "back of the house." This includes improving the interior decor as well as polishing our standards of service. We recognize that you had an unsatisfying experience and so we hope to learn from this opportunity. Therefore we are requesting that you contact us concerning any and all complaints/concerns/suggestions you have.

Our desire is to serve you better and in order to do so we've established an "open door" philosophy. Please feel free to contact me via email at mkim@wasasushi.com. My name is Michael and I am the "Director of Development" at Wasa's main corporate office. I look forward to listening to your thoughts and hope that we can make a difference for you and all future guests at all Wasa sushi locations. Once again I offer my humble apologies and sincere thanks.

Fake Chic. II just moved here from LA, close to Ventura Blvd with over 200 sushi restaurants. You can all compare restaurants to nobu, Sushi Roku, and katana, but try to understand, you're trying to compare a Mastro's to an outback. Wasa was your typical expensive sushi place with little atmosphere and a crowd that thinks expensive sushi means it's good. First, any sushi place you have to order off a piece of paper is a waste of your time. You should order directly from the chef. Second, there is no "fresh" menu available. No live shrimp, no live scallops, just the basic salmon and Toro (like that's so hard to find?) And of course it's over priced. But hey, this is Irvine, and it's expensive, and my neighbors think it's a good place (they eat sushi once a month!), so why not go.

Tasty food with a great atmosphere!. Great food and fun lively atmosphere, I love it! This place is jumping with life and the beauty is that the life is being fed with awesome food and energy from everyone there. Everyone there has a fun time and truly enjoys the food, I felt free to speak to anyone about the food. Everyone is so friendly I'm talking about the Staff and the Customers. If you want to see something with some flair try the Treasure Rolls they are really different and contrasts of flavors are sure to make you say mmmmmm..... I know I have tried them all.
