Don't bother....
We went to the Anaheim White House about 2 years ago on Valentines Day and we really enjoyed our experience. We enjoyed it so much that we decided to go there this year but boy, what a mistake that was?
When we made reservations this year, they asked us if we would like to be in the Catalina Ballroom, and without any hesitation we said ?Sure.? Once we arrived, we were shocked to see this raggedy old tent sitting in front of the restaurant. That apparently was the Catalina Ballroom. The tables in this area were very wobbly and the cushions didn?t even stay on the chair. Through out the night I saw a lot of people requesting to be in the restaurant. NO ONE enjoyed being out there.
The food: We were first served bread. It was warm, but I am not sure if it was the butter or bread or both, but something tasted like freezer burn. It definitely was not fresh. We ordered two pasta dishes, salad and mash potatoes. We never received our mash potatoes, but the let me tell you the pasta at Costco is far better. We paid 30$ for 8 raviolis with a pinch of sauce! After having such horrible food, we opted out for dessert.
As for the servers, they were very slow, not at tentative, and very lost. The messed up on our bill (charging things we never had) and then to fix it, they took another 30 minutes. I was so ready to get out of there.
Something has changed at this place, perhaps the owner or the manager. But it is no longer can be considered "fine dining". Olive Garden will probably be a better then this restaurant.
Worst place to spend $100 for 2 people..
One month prior to Valentines day, I made a reservation for two at 7:30 with specific instruction to reserve seat next to window. They wanted $25 deposit to reserve a seat, so I let them charge my credit card.
When I went there with my date at 7:25 PM, the receptionist area was tiny, crowded, and the usher was not attentive. We waited 25 minutes and when we were finally seated, they seated us outside inside of a tent that looked nothing like the internet pictures were showing. Then, it took another 25 minutes to have a waitress come by and ask whether we would like to get a drink, then we waited 10 more minutes before we even got our drinks and by then I justed wanted to order. It took 35 minutes for our food to come out and it came out cold. As soon as the waitress dropped off the food, she took off and I didn't have time to tell her, "hey, the food is cold, what the fxxk?" I ordered medium rare filet mignon but the meat was overly well done, with outer crust burnt. The cook cleverly covered the burnt part of the meat with sauce. The waitress finally came back after 25 minutes of dreadfully gorging cold steak, she said "would you like some more drink?" I said, "forget it, get me the check." By then, it was already past 9 PM and my date and I are ready to leave. It took her 25 minutes to bring the check and we were just like, "what, the fxxk?" Check came out to be $93 plus tip and it did not even reflect the $25 deposit I paid, so I had to get the waitress' attention to have her credited back to my bill.
If you want to spend $100 for 2 people for cold steak and worst customer service, this i the place for you.
Amazing dining experience, great service. My boyfriend took me here for my birthday and I had such a great time. The restaurant was beautifully decorated and definitely made me feel like it was a special occasion. The staff was very attentive and our server was amazing. He stayed on top of everything and anticipated all our our needs, he was also very entertaining. We had the tuna tartare, which was good but a very small portion, and the green salad with a delicious strawberry vinagrette. For our entrees , we had the Vuitton steak and the Armani spareribs. The spareribs were very good, but the steak was amazing. The sides were just ok, so the meat was main attraction. Their plating of the food was fun and inventive; the steak came with a flatbread butterfly and the spareribs came with a flatbread leaning tower of Pisa. It's expensive so save this place for a special occasion.
Horrid service and overpriced! Avoid at all COST!. I can't believe this place has a 5-star rating! I went here with a group of 5 people. We sat in a small room with other groups of people. The place had nice crown molding but was a bit to crowded. You have to pay for valet, so they can park your car 10 feet away from the entrance. The bread was rock-hard and this place is very fond of putting small amounts of food in oversize bowls. I think the extra sized bowls represent how overpriced the restaurant was. It took them 3 HOURS to get the food to our table, I kid you not! Imagine sitting there, starving, trying to pass time! I couldn't believe that it takes that many hours to make spaghetti sauce to pour on some pasta for my kids! I got their special that made pasta mutiple different ways. The special had food that was bland and were mini-meals. I could surpass every dish in my own kitchen! Their deserts we also forgettable. The waiter ignored us and paid attention to us only after 2 hours had passsed. I was sooooo scarred by that experience that if I saw any restaurant with ONE star on this website I will avoid it like the plague!
Very nice restaurant. This restaurant is beautifully decorated, the waiters are knowledgeable and friendly, food is great. Our party was accomodated even though we arrived an hr before our reservation and it was a busy night. Only drawback is that some dishes are pricey with small portions, but that is only true for certain menu items. The presentation of the food is gorgeous too! My favorite is the tuna tartare.
Worst Restaurant Experience!. I can't believe this place has a 5-star rating! I went here with a group of 8 people, with reservations, and we had to sit outside on a cold night. The outside is perfect for pictures, but that's all this place is good for. You have to pay for valet, so they can park your car 10 feet away from the entrance. The bread was rock-hard and this place is very fond of putting small amounts of food in oversize bowls. It took them 2 HOURS to get the food to our table, I kid you not! Imagine sitting there, starving, trying to pass time! And when the food came, they were in very small portions considering the high price. The pasta and steak were so bland and average, I could have made better in my own kitchen. The souffle` was the only bad-tasting one I have ever tried. It was so bland. The waiter was cocky and impolite, with a condescending attitude, making the experience worse. That night, I truly "dined in hell."
Yeah... no. As I walked into the restaurant, at first I was taken aback by the light, beautiful decor until I got a distinct feeling that I was in a house of ill repute. Some people were in jeans, a fake piano was in site and we were seated in an icy corner by a window with a visible plastic cover. The food was nauseating. It truly seemed like a "wanna be upperscale restaurant", much like a "wanna be classy woman whom reeks of the scent of a tart". It was an obvious effort in trying too hard and failing miserably. Even the dessert, which appeared to be delicious, was the worst tasting cake that I have ever had to injest. McDonalds would have been a delight in comparison. At least McDonald's food is tasty and their establishment, not pretentious.
A 5 star experience. The White House was a great experience - Everything we had was delicious - The ravioli was very tasty and the service was great ....go check it out....it's very cool...
Great food and service.
My boyfriend took me to the Anaheim White House for my birthday... I hadn't heard of the restaurant before, but loved the food. We had the calamari steak as an appetizer, I had the special entree for the night (lobster tail and braised short ribs) and he had the NY Steak. We finished off with the grand marnier dessert (delicious). The NY steak was average, but the special entree was really good (although pricier than I expected at $60).
All in all, I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a special occassion... the service was great, the food came out very quickly and was good, and the decor of the restaurant was beautiful.
Best place to go before catching a show!. Within a short distance to Honda Center and The Grove, this place has a head start in being the establishment of choice for a meal before the show. You can also specify what time you need to be out by and the waitstaff will do everything they can to help pace your meal, accordingly. The food is just fantastic, but not necessarily expensive. Prices are reasonable and coupled with an intimate, romantic atmosphere and high quality service, this place will have you headed out to the show with a spring in your steps!
