The atmosphere of the restaurant was
very nice. Nice sized booths and tables -- I had a large party and it fit us comfortably. Our server was top-notch and very friendly.
She went above and beyond with her service. The hostess at the front was very friendly and warm as well.
Great service/ Ohh and good food too.... My wife and family came in for dinner on Tuesday 9/4/07. Our server was Jennifer she was wonderful. Fun friendly and great with my kids. She said she had 2 of her own. Servers that have childern of their own are the best to have in a family restaurant. We had BBQ ribs and Tri-Tip. It was out of this world..The sweet potatoes were great as well as the peanut slaw. We looked for the manager when leaving, to tell him of our experience. He was No where to be found!!!! We even asked the hostess to locate him.(no luck)
Hearty and stuff. I don't eat red meat, so I imagine this place is better for those who do. Still, I do eat chicken, garlic mashed potatoes, and garlic bread. Thus, I like this place. You will too. Deal?
The meat just falls off the ribs!. Wood Ranch is the best BBQ I have ever eaten! The ribs and tri-tip are to die for. The service is always excellent and make sure you get there early or you will be waiting for hours. They also have really good garlic rolls and garlic mashed potatoes. The bar is an excellent place to wait while your table is getting ready. Good place for kids and large parties. Nice heated outside patio and clean restrooms.
Very good. Wood Ranch BBQ is much more than BBQ! Food is really really really (did I mention REALLY) good!
Great Food. The tri-tip is the best thing on the menu! It is very tender and the barbebue sauce is great! 2 sides I'd recommend are the white corn on the cob and the sweet potatoes are 2 die for! Very reasonable prices for what you get. A definite must try experience! I thouroughly enjoy it! Great food! Great prices! Great service! -- Oh..and if you are NOT counting your carbs.... great bread!!
Gracious service and family atmosphere is the main draw at this local barbecue chain..
The Scene
If the parking valet and "Bonanza"-meets-Cheesecake-Factory vibe didn't tip you off, Wood Ranch ain't your typical barbecue joint. This is barbecue, Valley style. Inside, family groups fresh from the Land's End catalogue shoot and young couples crowd the rustically handsome dining room or wait at the bar--with vibrating pagers in hand--for their turn to consume Texas-sized slabs of grilled meat.
The Food
Sadly, what Wood Ranch's specialties possess in sheer girth, they lack in distinctiveness. Combo platters like the half barbecued chicken with baby-back ribs cry out for more smoke and spice, even after a thorough dousing in the house's signature barbecue sauce. Tri-tip--a 2-inch-thick sirloin--is exceptionally tender, but beef ribs aggravate with more fat than meat on the bone. Traditional Western-barbecue sides like baked beans are unremarkable, as are the vinegary cole slaw and steak-cut fries. Canned fruit dulls an otherwise respectable peach cobbler a la mode, capping an undistinguished--albeit waistband-tightening--dining experience.
