Editorial Review for Tuna Town – by Leigh Niles

In Short
Opened by Korn drummer David Silveria, the restaurant's claim of being a rock-and-roll sushi bar is accurate. The dark-red memorabilia-filled walls, low lighting, mud flap-worthy mermaid logo and booming hard-rock music create a nightclub feel. Choose a teppanyaki grill table, where meat, rice and veggies are chopped and stir-fried right before you by showy chefs. Or go the sushi route and sample unique rolls like tuna Juju Taki, which arrives engulfed in flames.

What to Drink

Sample one of the whimsical cocktails like the Yum Yum, a sweet mixture of pineapple and apple liqueurs, lemonade, 7-Up and vodka.

We have eaten in most of the restaurants in Huntington Beach. Tuna Town is by far and away the best restaurant in Huntington. I will go as far as to say probably the best Sushi I have eaten in OC. Love the servers, the bartenders and the cooks. Always consistent, clean and fun. Yes, it is loud but that is because it is filled with such a fun crowd. If you want excellant food and love to people watch this is your place. Also something amazing, the kids steak dinner is as good as it gets. I love the fact that they put as much emphasis on the kids meal as they do the grown-ups. The short ribs melt in your mouth, the steak is so tender you do not need a knife and the rolls are perfect. Another plus is the restaurant is clean, clean. The owner takes pride in her restaurant and it shows. Thanks for a great spot so close to home!!!!!! I'd even make the drive if I lived a distance away. If it was not Monday I would be there tonight.

I GO INTO TUNA TOWN ALL THE TIME AND HAVE NEVER HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE. IN FACT THE SERVICE IS GREAT, ALL THE WAITRESSES ARE SUPER FRIENDLY AND REALLY TAKE THE TIME TO GET TO KNOW ME AND MY FAMILY WHEN WE COME IN. THE FOOD IS GREAT BUT SOMETIMES WILL TAKE A LITTLE LONGER THAN OTHERS. BUT ANY ONE THAT KNOWS GOOD SUSHI SHOULD KNOW THAT IT IS NEVER GOOD WHEN RUSHED, UNLESS YOUR THE TYPE OF PERSON USED TO SUSHI TAKE OUT. OVERALL GREAT PLACE, FOOD, ATMOSPHERE, AND SERVICE. RECOMMEND IT TO ALL!!!

Pros: FOOD, MUSIC, AND FRIENDLY SERVICE

Cons: SOMETIMES IT GETS REALLY CROWDED
